I don't play these to think, too much sandbox just annoys me. I don't want to wander around for a half hour trying to get something to happen in a game

I never got into RPG although i likes Treasure of Nadia.
I play mostly VNs, sandbox is alright if the goals are clear and nothing is too hidden

just VN's i tend to have difficulty getting into but management or rpg vein i tend to get grabbed by since my facorites are Freecities pregmod, Lilith's throne, Corruption of champions 1, degrees of lewdity and strive for power

I definitely prefer real gameplay even in adult games. I have spent a lot of time with Kamidori Alchemy Meister. Basically, if a game is good even if all the sexy stuff was removed, that is the ideal.
That applies to pure VNs as well, if your story does not stand up with the sex scenes removed, then I won't bother.

Sandboxes that does not require you to grind too much (e.g., Dōkyūsei, MCR, Milfy City).

VNs are nice if I get at least some say in how things work out. I like choices. Sandboxes work if there's a point to it like timed events or special scenes. I don't mind some managing and grind so long as it rewards something other than required steps to progress.

I support you, RPGs without combat are very good
While not for everyone, Monster quest paradox and the original are fully fleshed RPGs that are incredibly deep story and combat gameplay. The only thing holding them back is the censorship.

Anything's fine as long as the mechanics and/or story are good and the lewds are good.

I prefer VNs in general. If they are linear with some dialogue options or sandbox with a bit of exploring like summertime it's nice

VN with fewer choices let the author actually tell a story are great

Sandboxes where the player meaningfully controls the story are great

VNs that pretend to be sandboxes by throwing in grinding and 'where's the next scene' guessing games are garbage

I like having a sandbox to explore, but VNs (both a a single narrative through line or as branching options) are good too
gotta agree with this dude sandboxes and branching options for the win, I usually find myself save scumming on multiple choice though..

I enjoyed the sandbox style of Man of the House the most. Normally I prefer VN's over sandbox, because sandbox is usually just unnecessary

Mostly the classic Renpy VNs. But some RPGs are great aswell.

Personall I like choice-based visual novel
Sandbox style games (made in Renpy) are okay, so long as it doesn't make you find and repeat the same scene over and over to make some stat tick up.

If done well I prefer sandbox over vn's. I enjoy the freedom in picking and choosing who I want to follow when I want to.

Straight VNs for me because I don't think these sorts of games benefit from traditional game mechanics. I get frustrated clicking around because I've missed one little thing to progress the story

I don't expect much gameplay, just some choice based story with easy to understand paths
