How do you feel about voiced VN?

Big fucking NO to bland AI generated voice over. No you tasteless humans, it is not better to have any kind of voice acting than no voice acting at all.

Here is the thing. Voice acting takes away the imagination and the picture you have in your head for a certain character.

Also, big no for voiced male characters. If they are not ai generated they most certainly sound like they just passed puberty.

Dear devs: Keep the money, save the time. Put more effort in you fucking and smut and you are good to go.

Not a fan of the voiced VN's. The few voice actresses that will do adult work, it doesn't fit. And TTS or AI, I have never found one title that did it well.

Now, there is a voice actress that works for HFT Games (Wanderlust, etc.) and she's got a great voice for the work. I'd listen to her reading a menu.

For most AVN, I think the budget is better spent elsewhere. I don't dislike voices, but I read faster than they speak. Do I mind them, not at all, but if I can disable I usually do.

I always mute voiceovers. I've never heard a VN with voice acting that wasn't painfully cringe-y and AI voiceover never sounds realistic. I generally don't mute music unless it is extremely repetitive or has bad audio quality (some devs over-compress to get file sizes down). I usually don't care about sound effects unless they have the same problems as the music.

Unless the voice can create the exact emotions for the scene it's used in it's pointless, as it just serves to detract from the VN's value, this is something AI can not do, at least as far as I'm aware AI cannot faithfully recreate the intonation, emotion or correctly transfer the idea of sensations through it's AI voice, sometimes even paid VA can't get it right, if it doesn't fit and make the scene better it probably shouldn't be included

I'm used to muting the voices in any visual novels except for the music.
I'm the opposite. I always mute the music, as it's nearly always both loud and annoying. I turn everything else lower (why do they always set it for extreme loud?) If the voices are decent I don't mute.

I'm only play voiced VN if it was a Japanese VN, other than that it's sound cringe.

Voices in game are a game changer. Brings the game to life and makes it more interesting
