Same, I dont mind those as much. Actually, once in a while I will remove my netorare excluded tag and search for that with fem protag, because ntr games with a fem protag dont give me the want-to-punch-bitch-ass-mc feeling. Unless they go really hard into that hold cucking shit and the entire game is about talking about her cucks small cock or whatever. But yeah, femc ntr games dont really feel liek ntr. I feel those are more netori, but... every time I feel I have a good understanding of the ntr gang of tags someone tells me I am wrong. Or they come out with the whole "ntr is not netorare so you are wrong", which... is right. Sometimes. Depending on the site and their tags. And this... is why I stay the fuck away from the whole NTR discussion. Its a fucking disaster and just makes me want to violence someones face.

The problem with most games that they lack sexual tension and build-up. Either fmc and heroines just give sex for free. OR MC fucks everything that moves at first glance. That quickly loses any steam or interest.

I like variety in my games, and I don't really self insert. So for only the MC to have sex just feels limiting. In a story where the MC has multiple LIs at his disposal, let the girls have some fun on the side, too! It's just kinda boring when every woman in the story needs to stay faithful to one guy who is all of their types at once with his magic dick.

From what I can tell the japanese simply slap "NTR" on the cover of any doujin or JAV with any sort of "extra-marital" story, regardless of whether it's netorare, netorase, netori, a cheating FMC etc because they're not the most alphabetically inclined to begin with, leading to all that confusion when it's used as both as an umbrella term and as the abbreviation of netorare. It's the global audience who uses the latinized/alphabetized expressions and their proper abbreviations, and it's up to that global audience to strive to make these definitions clear and workable.
In a netorare (NTR) story the main character's love interest will screw around against the MC's will who'll hate it.
In a netorase (NTS) story the main character's love interest will screw around and the MC will like it or not mind it.
In a netori (NTI) story the main character will screw someone's love interest against that someone's will who'll hate it.
A pornographic NTR / NTS / NTI work is a pornographic work that eroticizes an NTR / NTS / NTI story.

While I appreciate your response, you are oversimplifying the Infidelity genre, terminology, and definitions. In November of this last year I did some research on the topic and wrote a short research paper on the topic. While this is not me saying I am an expert, I did take quite a bit of time to research the topic of Infidelity as it is portrayed in Visual Novels and Games because I wanted to better understand the genre and potentially sort through the mess of terminology and nomenclature. Here is an excerpt from the research - I utilized 23 resources and would be happy to provide them, if you are interested.

The "NTR" Family is quite literally a matter of character perspective. The Japanese terms Netorare, Netori, and Netorase are genres commonly found in anime and manga that explore infidelity from highly specific viewpoints. Unlike their Western counterparts, the primary distinction between them lies in the narrative point of view—whether the story is told from the perspective of the one being betrayed, the one doing the stealing, or the one willingly giving their partner away. This focus on perspective, coupled with varying dynamics of consent, makes them precise and nuanced categories. The abbreviation NTR, widely used in fan communities, is short for Netorare.
Netorare (寝取られ): The Perspective of the Betrayed
Netorare literally translates to "to be taken away" or "being snatched away." This genre centers on the experience of a protagonist (Person A) whose romantic partner or love interest (Person B) is "stolen" by a third party (Person C).
The core emotional focus of a Netorare narrative is the internal emotional distress, trauma, and devastation of the protagonist. The story is about the pain and heartbreak of betrayal. From the protagonist's (A's) perspective, the act is entirely non-consensual or occurs without their knowledge. Netori is derived from the active verb netoru, meaning "to take." In this genre, the narrative perspective shifts to the "stealer" or "homewrecker."
The protagonist of a Netori story is the third party (Person C) who actively works to seduce, manipulate, or force someone else's partner (Person B) into a physical relationship. The central plot dynamic is one of conquest. To provide justification for the protagonist's actions, the original partner (Person A) is often characterized negatively—portrayed as an abuser, a cheater themselves, or otherwise unable to satisfy their partner.
Netorase (寝取らせ): The Perspective of the Giver
The term Netorase originates from the causative form of the verb, meaning "to let or cause someone to take." This genre aligns closely with the Western cuckold fetish.
The protagonist (Person A) in a Netorase story is a willing participant who actively enjoys, encourages, or even orchestrates their partner (Person B) having sex with a third party (Person C). This is the Japanese media genre equivalent of the willing cuckold or cuckqueen fetish, where the original partner gives their informed consent and derives pleasure from the act.

I go on to make a comparison between the "equivalent" Western terms and discuss the differences. For example: Cheating vs Netorare - while there is definitely overlap they are not the same. While Netorare involves cheating the difference is in a typical "Western" narrative Cheating is typically very straightforward and rarely involves any form of coercion for the love interest and is often the result of a breakdown in the romantic relationship - it is intentional and a choice of the love interest from the beginning, whereas Netorare includes the coercion mentioned (above) and may lead to the love interest evnetually perferring the 'stealer'.
One of the concerns, or flaws with creating visual novels where Netorare is the primary literary story driver, is the reader/player often 'self-inserts' or, at the very least, reads into the emotional state of the protagonist via self-projection. The reader/player has the advantage, or disadvantage if you will, of 'Dramatic Irony'; the reader/player is fully aware of any and all events from the beginning of the narrative and they tend to emote more than would a virtually clueless protagonist from the start of the story. This ofetn leads to a misinterpretation of the cheating aspect of the narrative - keep in mind the protagonist in the story has no idea their love interest has been unfaithful so they could only make guesses or extrapolate from limited information, whereas we, as readers, already know everything.
Of course there are so many nuances and variations it is very difficult to place many actions or scenarios firmly in a single Infidelity category.
