I do wonder what players get out of an AVN where the MC is cheated on. Maybe it's more about schadenfreude?

Its one thing if the MC is cheated on in the beginning and then its a comeback story of getting over the heart break and finding something better. I think most people enjoy a comeback story.

I usually quit those games if the MC is that bad, but I do know what you mean. It can be fun every once in awhile to root against someone you hate.

I hated it as a trope in this new game even if it was a part of understanding why the main character is withdrawn and not trusting of others. Echoes the Lies we tell ourselves it was called. Dev name Oldcat. Though I like their other game more. Myth of the Slayer, and I didn't like the ending of My Real Desire. It kind of fizzled out. He also abandoned peaceful life.

Frankly I despise the whole genre but it seems popular with certain groups. Just blame Japan and Korea.

Still I played a few parody NTR games that make you laugh.

It's interesting the reaction everyone has to NTR. It's like it carries over from IRL to fiction so closely, yet incest, something a lot of people find repulsive IRL doesn't carry over to fiction and can easily be looked at as arrousing in a fictional context.

I think it's because it's so bizarre to people why people would like it AND how prevalent it is in the genre despite it's seeming nicheness. I don't like it personally but I understand why someone might.

Probably because the character in the game isn't someone you were raised with, and probably doesn't look much like them, etc. But normal men getting cheated on is about the ultimate "OH HELL NO!" Assuming you identify with the MC.

TBH I dont see the problem with NTR, it isnt something that I would go out of the way to look for, but isn't something that I would just quit a game over. At the end of the day I'm really only playing games like these to watch some stuff and fap to it.
