Yeah there are many of those that do nothing and just collect "rent".
I have also seen devs that bait with "a great idea" but in reality they never intend to work on it.
Buying a game on steam is much more fair as you pay for complete product.
The game itself is quite good, but dev is greedy beyond belief. For AI generated art on Copyrighted content (naruto) music/characters, he wants his followers to pay 50$ him per month. :D
If you don't pay you don't get proper gallery access and it feels bad without gallery.
Why would he make a full release, if this game is making a living for him and his family. There is no guarantee his next game will become as succesful.
They will try to extend development as much as possible, can see it going for 5-10 years more easily. You do not give up on a goose that...
I prefer to have a choice whom to chase and when, sandbox works the best. I do not like straight line VN's as you are kind of forced into a certain content.
Some don't even give you a choice, or worse they give a lot of choices without any meaning behind them.
Some of the projects are not meant to become games. There are "games" that 6 years into milking phase do not have any proper H-scene. Not every dev is interested in making a good game, some are interested in making money only.
