Why do you dislike AI art in games?

As long as they put effort on making the AI art and it stays consistent throught the game i truly don't mind it, and in fact about 3 of my current favorite games have AI in them

If it's photorealistic and consistent I would even prefer it over even Daz. Unfortunately that's still not the case for either of those and so far from what I've usually came across is just a lazy way to avoid actually hand drawing shit but try to still look like that or similar. I'm simply not a fan of anything but Daz so far, VAM as a back up due to superior animations, maybe HS2 if it is done well, which isn't often, and so far most AI I've seen used in AVNs sucks compared to even HS.

yeah its just usually too inconsistent or weird looking to really be good good. like it can be good enough, and when the dev puts real effort into it, but most the time the characters just look cheap, generic, or weird. probably more passable with anime styles because honestly those are already kinda generic lol but then the ai draws the actual sexual bits kinda weird too, not super crazy but it doesnt look like real cocks or vaginas if you actually stop and look.
i think doing a half and half thing where you dont just use ai art alone maybe works better? but the only example i can remember is one where 3d models get weird ai deepfake faces on them and that one looks decent 80% of the time but super super horrible that other 20% lol and that's 20% too much for me

Don't think it's AI. It's how realistic it is becoming which is the main problem. AI is a tool and not a very precise one right now. In a few years it may be too real.

I don't dislike AI art itself. I don't like how they go about teaching the AI by stealing others and my own work but it's really fun to mess around with. It will never replace what I do as I make art for myself but It can and does already make things easier such as AI in Photoshop.

thats also true, its crazy how these big companies can just get away with stealing whatever they want but ohh if you steal something from them the copyright hammer will fall on your skull in no time

No such thing as too real. I'm reminded of the U2 song Even Better Than The Real Thing. I'll love it when AVNs mistakenly start getting real porn tags way too often, but that still a ways off (maybe 2030's). I guess porn stars will have to get a real job as well when that day comes, since fictional characters don't need paid and the people making them will prob make far less than the $1200 or so a week the average porn star/cam girl currently makes.

It's always generic looking and way too inconsistent with details. The use of AI imagery is usually an indicator of an overall lack of care for quality in other areas like writing. I have yet to see a creative product use AI as anything but a cheap shortcut (please prove me wrong). Also AI images are just kind of dead and soulless, not sexy.

The ones I've seen don't take advantage of making them realistic and just make shit cartoons. Cartoons are for children, not AVNs.

I was speaking to hyperrealism as it pertains to loli/smol's and websites like this one and all.the.fallen. People are already being arrested for it and LC bans most of it. The movement to ban AI has already begun. When it looks indistinguishable, that movement will turn into a tidal wave.

It's been moved to P5 (says no restrictions), so it's not banned anymore last I heard. And sure, some people may get arrested, but 99% will get away with it if everyone would quit giving a fuck (and use a logless VPN to where they can't find them anyway or at least slow that search down to a crawl). This is like when DVD encryption was first cracked (which was illegal as well, but the crackers did not give 1 shit). Sure, people were getting arrested at first for copryright infringement when copies were getting shared but when practically everyone was doing it the feds had to prioritize by only going after the biggest fish like Kim Dotcom and others actualy making thousands or millions of dollars from it. Then encrypted VPNs came along soon after torrent was public in 2004 and that was the nail in the coffin of most copyright crap. This is just another genie out of the bottle LE won't be able to do much of shit about in the long term, they can't even keep a handle on real C P on the darkweb due to the demand. ~200M (probably lowball) ped0s in the world will always want shit to fap to, most of which probably prefer movies and AI movies/deepfakes are not common yet and prob won't be easy enough for the average person to make for a long time. I just wish Stable Diffusion was easy to use, but sadly there's not even an .exe installer like most apps so I couldn't even get that far myself, otherwise I'd just make my own lolis/hebes. There's a few public AI porn sites I've come across and billed as "make your own porn". Sure, officially they word filter certain prompts like lolis and 14yos, so one has to get creative for those to get generated, and they supposedly report what is generated to LE (gl if they are behind a logless VPN) if they don't like it but those aren't even behind a paywall (free/public), which is surprising.

Ai os good for a character to work off of but you can use the same prompt twice and get two different outcomes

Yeah I noticed that, sadly. AI is still kinda more like AS (artificial stupidity). I guess having a prompt list a mile long and being very specific would help, but at that point it's almost easier to build a 4k image pixel-by-pixel yourself if you have the talent and time (though 8 million squares would take awhile). The AI like that in the holodeck in Star Trek is apparently still 10 years away and prob will still be 10 years from now, if it's still not sentient by then (which is unlikely before quantum computers are cheap and common, prob no one is going to make a sentient AI out of silicon CMOS).

I'm not as optimistic. The dark web isn't mainstream. I hardly think it's a viable example.

AI right now isn't passable most of the time. I'm talking when it becomes hyper real. Indistinguishable from reality where you can enter a prompt and it will make a 10 minute movie you can't distinguish from Hollywood. Close to Turing level.

Stable Diffusion (and clones) weed out anything trained on children, regardless of which model you use. You have to get pretty creative with LoRA's or train your own to get anything passable from what I've read in white papers. I heard rumors of some existing but I wouldn't touch them with a ten-meter pole. Some of my stuff is on CivitAI and have been using AI for about a year now (currently learning Python for this reason). Japan has really begun to crack down on loli/smol stuff and their mainstream corps wont touch it. Plus, I have several PhD friends in the tech field that tell me the only reason agencies like the NSA, BMI, etc haven't cracked down is because it's relatievly small compared with real threats like Bitcoin, China, India & Russian cyber crime. Plus, the dark web is feeding them so much intel that they tolarate the bad actors. Don't, for one second, think that VPN, I2P or TOR is keeping anywone safe. They just don't care. When kids in elementary school start making porn of their classmates that will change and every encryption node will get flooded with so many frame sniffers and electromagnetic pulses making every user instance glow like light bulbs the networks will crash fast than you could say DDOS.

depending on what you want to achieve, it can make joint effort. it should be more consistent and easy to manually still 3dcg; it is more effective now to i2v instead of multi-frames manual rendering. i2v models like Wan, Huntsman, etc can do sufficient job entirely locally.
also, if you want a realistic mock up it is easiet to be done with generation than back and forth in rendering.

short, for current SOA, it is already beneficial to pair up generative model with traditional method. they can work together

Really doesnt bother me tbh unless its too drastic for the theme or the parts of it that are messed up... are like... REALLY messed up, and they just put it in anyway

but games without animations don't catch my attention
Prefer games with animations and at the moment there doesn't seem to be any AI games with it.

Can take it or leave it either way.

It's a mix of issues. Like a lot of people have said it looks soulless and it's inconsistent. The ai doesn't "know" that the character to make them look the same when they turn or are in a different scene

I also haven't scene ai animation in any games yet, but I've seen it other places and it's not great
