I like some small animations here and there made by AI as long as they are good and consistant,
but i can see some of the points here against it,you have a lot of games where the characters look all the same or faces and bodies change in every scene.
It's a technology that can be a huge help for some Gamedevs,so why not use it.
And let's be honest, most of us never paid a cent for downloading a game,so play it or skip to something else you like.

I'm a bit mixed on this. On one hand side, I recognize that AI tools are great help in gamedev and can radically speed up the process of game updates. On the other hand, most of stuff generated by AI looks the same - has same art style

The world must understand that AI is a tool and that it will become widespread and widely used. Similar pushback happened with Photoshop, although not nearly as amplified by social media. There are two types of AI users: those who use it with good intentions because they want to create something and understand that creating anything requires time and effort, even when using a computer. They may spend time coding it to make the lines look right, adjusting things here and there so that each panel looks consistent, and putting proper care into whatever they are making, resulting in something actually impressive that does not feel souless.
Then there is the other side of AI, just as with any other tool: people who see it as a quick opportunity to produce fast, low-effort content, or slop, with the intention of setting up a patreon or pursuing other less savory motives. YouTube and other content creation sites are now battling this group with crazy stricter monetization rules.
But the big conclusion is that the problem is not AI. The problem will never be AI, in the same way that any other tool is not inherently a problem. The problem is the guy writing the algorithm to secretly push whatever thing in his mind, and the user who sees AI as a slot machine, churning trash after trash until he hits the jackpot.

I just hope that with the ever improving technology of AI that we will at least get more games and good stories with it. I'm sure there are a lot of potential devs who were intimidated before but now have the confidence to create with AI, especially with how much easier it is

I think so long as the end result is good, I don't really care how we got there. Some AI art is very apparent and offputting, but some can be unnoticeable. Same goes for writing, code, etc. End of the day I just want something that looks nice.

When it's used as a tool by competent devs/artists it's fine or potentially even great.
Problem is AI makes it so easy to create stuff that it lowers the bar to the point that anyone can just create slop regardless of their actual talent/ skills. you see it everywhere.
AI slop games, videos, books too probably and even full on movies in the near future. Some might be great but the majority will be complete ass.

I think they could be great if used with a game appropriate to it. It's really exciting to think versions of Lab Rats 2, Ero Dungeons, or Strive for power made with ai, It's literally endless of possibilities that can create greatest games ever made so far. But in a normal VN, it mostly adds to endless pile of trash of tasteless VN's.

Depends.

Ai as a tool to enhance self made content/assets works very well.

For example, if i were in the shoes of a AVN creator i would use AI video generation to create animations BUT i would fully create and render out key frames for it to use. I would not simply insert a single starting image and then tell it what to create as that leads to the usual AI slop.

Creating (and rendering) a few frames for AI animation is still a hell a lot quicker than rendering out your own self created animation.

The problem i see a lot is AVN makers taking the shortest easiest route which is to either fully create AI animations from almost nothing, resulting in horrible AI slop, or simply not using enough original material for the AI generator to work with without ending up with a AI mess.

Ai tools are just that ..tools ..and like any tool the way its used and the skill of the user matters, just like with any tool.

I think that this is a slightly difficult topic to breach. It does allow more people to flesh out their games, but why's it gotta be so shitty... Always. Everyone is constantly using the same model, throws a prompt into it and is done. Rarely do we see anyone try anything unique so every game is now getting AI-washed. That's what i think the real tragedy is.

Money.

Plain and simple.

Most western societies nowadays very much prioritize the acquisition of wealth. The most extreme example being the USA. Basically western humanity are now Ferengi (Star Trek)
As such, the quickest, easiest, and cheapest methods will be used to make anything that is intended to be monetized, this includes AVNs and any other form of erotic content that is digitally created. Ai tools help that, hence why the worst use of using Ai tools (the lazy methods) results in 'AI slop'.

I agree that it's money, but any diversification should be rewarded. Of course it's not though and you see it across all products.

The AI bubble will eventually burst. Even the big wigs in tech industry know this. Thats why they havnt expanded production to keep up with Ai data centers .. they know full well its going to burst. They dont want to be left holding the bill due to expenditure on production capacity. This is why we have a memory shortage currently, all production capacity is being diverted to Ai data center construction and no further production capacity is being made to take advantage of it because they know by the time the facilities are upgraded and/or built new.. the Ai bubble will be gone. It may take years ..but it will burst eventually.
