What do you think of asset duplication? ✔️

why would I want a dev to spend time and resources making a store "unique" instead of using them towards the story, the characters, the sex scenes. It's like wanting unique tires instead of a running car.

I don't mind, really. I'm more occupied reading the text or seeing the suggestive posses of the characters in the clothing store anyway (?). If anything, I like to think that different stories are happening on the "same universe" even if its not logical.

I think that in these kinds of games, having these shortcuts is logical, since you may not have the time/budget to make something new like other games. It also helps the dev to focus on more important things like the story/characters/etc.

Still, is nice and appreciated when a dev takes the time to create new spaces that have not been featured before.

How many times have i sat at that bench in the park with the stone arched passageway on the path nearby?

It used to bother me sometimes, now I just look at it like that tunnel in Back to the Future, or those famous rocks from Star Trek, just sets around the "Hollywood" where all these games are produced.

It doesn't really bother me I understand its difficult for some people to make there own assets so they just go with what's popular.

Unless you can make your own assets which is very hard so mostly devs stuck with what's available. They can hire someone to make but cost will go skyrocket even those high number of followers

I generally prefer uniques, but i dont mind if a dev has his/her favorite in multiple games. Its just annoying when lots of devs use the same stuff.

I'm fine with it, making custom assets is very time consuming (Or expensive..) and I'd rather see that used to make a game more complete in terms of scenes and writing.. it's always nice to see though.

It would be great if games could have unique assets, but realistically, 99.999999% of devs don't have the skill to make them, so reuse is going to happen. I don't really care when it's background stuff. It irks me when devs use unmodified character models, or the common free hair and clothing assets. The characters in your game should be uniquely yours, take the time to learn how to modify them and do it. If your game starts making money, invest in some proper clothing assets instead of using the free shit.

The same ones over and over would suck. Seems like there's enough to not have that (other than locations.) Be nice if there were ones made, especially if offered to those making games - shared like on sites that have custom content for games. People good at making them but not able to write a game could do that while the devs would use them. Or at least have devs & one or more who could make them collaborate.

I found a few games that use the same characters with little to no variation, and it's just kinda funny to me.

If game have good written story, nice dialogs, cool characters and original places except for one place - it will be cool. But if all places was taken from other games, story is similar to many others and there is barely any content - it is not good at all.

I don't mind background reuse as much as character reuse, because the background is just to set the scene, as long as everything else is good it's barely noticible

Character model are important. It's probabbly one of the things that pulls me into the game. That being said, I wish when they use the same asset, they can devitate the fashion or scenes so atleast I can immerse myself with this new 'variation' of the asset

I think its funny and like you said about the clothes shop a lot of games use the same assets though its always interesting to me to see how differently they can be viewed developed compared to others, like character models for example one might be used in bland unremembered game while another may be used in a great game.

Many games use the same assets, clothes models locations. some devs try to make it unique but others don't bother. Take the clothes shop for example:

Almost every game has it, I personally find it funny and I like it (it's like a trope at this point). What about you? Does it break immersion?
I don't mind it, as long as it's a good game

I make a few games and I've always tried to make unique looking characters and now I'm even making unique assets. One of the problems I got into is that my games take place in Rural America and there aren't too many assets for that outside the west part of America. You know deserts and shit. Because of this I started experimenting and found out I have a talent for it. I'm at the point where I make my own clothing textures. I also enjoy it.

Doesn't really bother me much. Characters and their models are usually the main draw for me, so as long as they aren't carbon copies of others then everything's all good for me.

I don't mind. It makes development faster/cheaper. I prefer seeing the same high quality assets repeatedly over seeing low quality assets.

I am happy to recognize a beautiful model that I already know from many other games. I am less happy to see ugly uncanny valley models, even if they are completely original.

One game uses a photo of from in front of the Reichstag in Berlin and tries to sell it as being from a university campus. I find that jarring because it makes no sense. I would much rather see the umpteenth use of that city park with meandering footpaths. The view of that path leading to a pedestrian tunnel, with a park bench on the left, is getting a bit old. But even that is better than taking a real photo from near a landmark out of context. (Perhaps the most prominent scene at that park bench is a photo session with MC and Rosalind. But the same location is used in Red Sakura 2 and several other games.)

Never bothered me in all honesty. I just want the game to be good with nice scenes
