I dont see any taboo in incest. From my point of view its pretty natural to discover sexuality with sisters. I can't believe the proportion of games on here that center on incest. Even on mainstream sites like pornhub. I'm not shaming anyone, but why is it so popular? Is it mainly for the thrill of something illicit? Or do so many people legitimately want to have sex with a family member?

Does a step relation count? I think when it does that makes up for a good portion of it I see. I don't like the idea of incest either personally.

Nah, there is more than that. Blooming Love by Bright Sun Studios for example. It's not loli (at all) but it is about romance between two young adult sisters.

(to answer your question, its because of the love connection between legit family members in a, for lack of a better word, "normal" household.
Mother loves her kids and want them to learn and grow, what better way to learn than from your Mother
Fathers want their kids to know what true love means (ill love you like your mother)
Sister loves her brother as a protector and will give herself to him in return. (not really but still)
Most men will lust over their mother/aunts or sisters first due to hormones growing up and being close to them everyday
Most women will say their father was their first love..be it forbidden love, or just "first male" love.

1. the taboo nature of it.
2. the lore, IDK how to explain it properly, but incest provides a connection it's like you already have a relationship between each other and that turns into something it wasn't supposed to.
Somewhere in between, you both started to see each other as more than something. It's similar to a childhood friend you start to love all of a sudden, and then the relationship dynamics alter each other, it's beautiful really.
But I don't like it because of the end result. I like it because of how it slowly changes. The journey here is more important than the destination.
