Over the years, most of the "taboo" subjects have become more mainstream, Incest is one of the few left that while taboo is still in MOST ways vanilla. Incest is legal in a few states in the US. There are no restrictions in Rhode Island (and the age of consent is 16). In New Jersey, both parties have to be at least 18 (even though the age of consent in NJ is also 16). I'm glad that there's always Seath Black and his games. Considering Lost Guardian has in fact entirely multigenerational incest.
Huge problem with this specific fetish becomes the time skip, models and age of the characters. Because the more you skip, the older original ones get. Unless the intention is to rail a granddaughter that's about 10 or something.

This topic actually goes way back, to the topic of genetic sexual attraction (GSA) and how it's suppressed with psychological imprinting (The Westermarck effect).
I believe the true reason would be that fantasy does in fact break through this imprinting, freeing this attraction and allowing people to entertain this part of them through the fantasy they're watching. That's why games are good.... they are a way to safely vent that stuff out. Most people in the "real world" would condemn incest, especially inbreeding.
