How do you feel about collectibles in games?

I kinda like them especially if they are not connected to the story. For me the grind can make it fun.

I don't even collect them when they are on the screen and a click away. Oooooo, I get a render in my gallery. Spend that rendering time finishing the GD story.

Not interested in the senseless grind. There should always be an easy way to unlock them all. Probably needs to be via a hack or patch to prevent devaluing it for those who like this kind of thing.

I'm not really a completionist so I don't really care for them.

Only if they lead to unlocking something that also feels worth the time of collecting the collectibles.

Same, if there's some scene or nice thing linked to it it's nice.

If there are to many and are mandatory it can get frustrating though.

100% agreed

I don't specifically look for games with collectables, but if they're included, I find it adds to the enjoyment.

when collectibles are used to add things like easter eggs references to other games movies or past games the dev worked on they are fine but when it effects story that is another matter entirely

If I'm able to get some indication of where they are as the game progresses, there is a reward for finding all of them and they aren't missable, I can enjoy searching for them.

I really dislike things like those DVDs hidden in Unteralterbach that can only be found in one scene and never again.

i don't care about them, but also can't find a reason against them. they are not making game worse (unless player is forced to find them) so it's okay

Until 2010 it used to be fun to find them but nowadays it's just something useless

when every game has them and they became just a check for developer to add they stopped having any meaning. Even worse when part or all the story is gated behind them.

If the search is not too grindy and the collectibles are not missable. I think it is ok. I hate when you lost 1 object that was in 1 frame and you have to play again all the game cause you forgot 10 years later.
