    I don't know what you are using, but NGG9, Real Gens, Golden Palace, NGV8 all come packed with scripts that automatically copy your model's relevant MATs and also include various recoloring options for the different parts. You shouldn't need to do that manually.

    Most relevant assets have deforms/sliders that handle shape/form/opening/etc. The controls are pretty extensive. New Gens For Victoria 8 in particular allows you to do pretty much anything (and yes, it works with the 9-series models as well).

    It doesn't help that they are often poorly implemented. But even when the implementation is fine, things like that break the pacing of the game and ruin it, at least for me.
