discussion Does the same 3D models in multiple games ever bother you?

Eh, Sometimes. Really only depends if it wasnt altered slightly or something.

A little, to be honest. Luckily there is tons of variety. And you can change to 2D art if you encounter that many replicates in 3D.

Is more or a nuisance when I play one, have to wait for an update, and got confused with another game because models look the same

There was a time where you would see those two characters models in 90% of games being released.

Nowadays, it's way more diverse. so it's rarer and less annoying when we recognize a character model from another game. And most devs nowadays are also smart enough to add some varition to them to make them a tiny bit unique.

If I liked it the first time around I fine with it. If it's just a copy paste thing then I wouldn't like it.

Can't remember a specific time where it's distracted me from the game story.

Oddly enough I used to find it more distracting when all female characters seemed to share the 90% the same clothes across games

It really does, There are games out there which i have played and completely forgotten about since all of them have the generic models over and over again

It only bothers me when I see the same assets that I don't like all that much. I understand multiple people uses good assets but why these ones?!

Not if it's just nude models, so I said no. But if they are wearing the same clothes and are in the same positions then it will mess with my concept of the characters because of memory association and that is annoying.

Sometimes, I know not everybody is able to completely edit a 3d model, but if that's the case you really need to make your story or characterisation stand out to compensate

It depends on whether the model is really good, but in order to not affect the experience at all it would have to be truly legendary.

If the duplicates aren't to common then it is like seeing the same actor in different roles. Somehow I find it stranger with the male models, because their is even less variety in them than with female models.

I see it as a sign that the dev is being lazy, so it does annoy me a bit.
