Wait a while for review and mouth word that is the game worth my time

Can’t trust that there won’t be a patch soon after release that censors or does something else to ruin the game these days. So I’m ok with waiting a few months before getting a game

I try to wait at least 3 updates (minor ones) before playing, Most of the time the big bugs are solved.

Wait for a bit, normally they patch something like bugs nowadays.

If it's a game I've had my eye on through development and I like what I see then I'll go immediately on release. If I don't know a ton about it I always wait for reviews, there's so many developers putting up slop now need a reliable way to sift through everything

And I have a rule: when a game is first released, if it's under 500 MB, I don't download it—I wait for the next update

I used to follow release dates quite tightly before, but nowadays not so much. I just suddenly realize there's a game I want to play weeks or months after release and then I play it lol.

I usually wait for a while for discounts and full dlc packages. but some nintendo games I do get day 1
