Do you prefer playing a VN with a Walkthrough Mod. Why/why not?

Only if the game is overall complicated. Like Summer Scent, had to installed a WT mod for that to maximize the likes I can get

always WT mod, cause am too lazy to replay games too many times cause have missed something and also with some games to steer away from certain paths.
in general i like to know what am getting and where am going.

For a lengthy game where choices early on have unexpected results further down the line, I want to know ahead of time. Short games, whatever, I'll replay it

First playthrough I try without a walkthrough. If the choices lead to unexpected and unpleasant results, I restart with a walkthrough. If the game is good enough to play it more than once, I use a walkthrough to unlock all scenes.

Yes. I play these games because porn is better with immersion, and games (or even KNs) are more immersive just watching short videos, or full porn films with actresses who can't act.
However, many game devs add branching ("YOUR CHOICES MATTER! ZOMG!") without realize how much harder that makes game development, or they are attemping to recreate a AAA game experience that they themselves enjoyed. But let's face it, a single guy in his basement googling up python snippets from stackoverflow is not going to create Dark Souls here. The gameplay is usually not fun and it just gets in the way of the content.
Add that to the fact that even a $5/month patreon usually ends up being hundreds of dollars over the life of the game, and I'll be damned if I'm going to spend hours fucking around in a terrible UI trying to uncover the last bit of content that I paid for. Much easier to grab a plugin and just follow the prompts. It's not like deciding "Hug Her/Do Not Hug Her" is a great moment in game play that I feel bad for missing out on.

Yeah I pretty much always play with a WT, because a lot of these games aren't worth the time wasted by not using one.

If I'm going to miss content without the mod - I need the mod. Especially when choices are ambiguously linked to outcomes.

Depends.
I usually prefer to use a walkthrough to avoid losing myself in all the routes and missing content.
That depends on the game, of course; if there aren't too many and the game is fun enough to be replayable I can go without it.

I prefer to use walkthrough, as many have said here - I want to see all of the scenes. Not to mention that sometimes choices will lock you out of certain paths and the creator won't say when, but the walkthrough will, so it also help to create better save locations.

I use them more often than not.

Only if the game is overall complicated. Like Summer Scent, had to installed a WT mod for that to maximize the likes I can get
complicated... or the choices have nothing to do with the consequences of said choices.

Well depends. I'm fine if it's a simple enough game where you can figure out stuff on your own. But if it's so complicated you won't know wtf to do if you don't have it. Of course I'll go with it.

Personally I'd prefer it for games that have diverse/many branching paths or consequences to my choices that I'd rather not get.
I prefer it when there is a walkthrough if there are either game ending choices or if there are route ending options. i want to know where I need to save.

I used to not when I had more time back in the day, now I use them so I don’t miss any content. The worse is when you accidentally end a path with a character

Definitely with, at least on the second playthrough, so that I can see story and content I'd otherwise miss, especially since I prefer games with multiple endings

Yeah, these are for the games that have different branching storylines, like corruption/love. This is so I can make 2 saves and then play through both at the same time. The mod just makes it so much easier.

BUT! Here's the big thing, if there is a game that has LOADS of hidden secrets and step-by-step things to do (like "to get this scene you needed to do *insert instruction* then *insert instruction* then *insert instruction*), then i'll avoid the game like the plague. Best example of this is "my new life: revamp". Even with a cheat or walkthrough mod, I don't want to be moved around like a puppet and forced to do EXACTLY everything or miss content.
