More 2D with animation unless it is an open game with Unreal Engine or Unity

3D, until there is 4D

2d agames usually have a bettewr story, but 3d just has better animations, cant really do 2d when 3d exists

I don't care as long as it looks good. I think the prevalence of daz and koikatsu etc mean that theres a higher minimum standard to the art in 3D games. I've seen some pretty terrible 2D art out there but I shudder to think of the abominations we'd get if every game was made from scratch in blender

I don't like the uncanny of 3D so i prefer something more anime like koikatsu but i really wish the characters had better high quality models that when bending members the mesh don't break, and obviously animated is better, specially with jiggles

After playing virt-a-mate in vr there is almost no going back. Now I’m going to be hunting here for a 3D game in games+

Overall I prefer 3d modern games, if done well anyway. When the studio doesn't have enough money or skills though 2d can be much better

Good games transcend 2D v 3D, but all things being equal, I'd rather play 3D.

I prefer 3d but there's nothing wrong with 2d, as long as art looks good I'm ready to play.

Looking at 2d instead 3d makes me feel like a caveman looking a stick figures sketched on the wall of a cave.

3D by far, my dumb monkey brain just recognizes 3D as more attractive than 2D. The problem being 3D usually all the effort goes into the renders, making the game itself worse.

2D or 3D doesn't matter to me, as long as I can get into the story and characters I am happy.

I like both equally, but 3d is better for these games. 2D just takes too long and unless you're an established artist, won't have the initial support to continue developing the game in most cases. Sometimes it works out, but yeah.

I think 3D is better but 2d can still be good if done right for Adult games.

For normal games I'm indifferent as I love 3D and 2D.

3D typically doesn't have a Linux version, and very often when you finally get them to run on Linux it turns out that they require a gamer PC or turn your PC into a toaster or something. Or the visual quality is crap. Exceptions such as Fallen Doll are rare treasures, but typically don't have a lot of content.

I generally prefer ordinary Ren'Py games. Some of them are huge, with amazing story telling that you would never see in a 3D game that is not an AAA production.
