I don't care as long as it looks good. I think the prevalence of daz and koikatsu etc mean that theres a higher minimum standard to the art in 3D games. I've seen some pretty terrible 2D art out there but I shudder to think of the abominations we'd get if every game was made from scratch in blender
I don't like the uncanny of 3D so i prefer something more anime like koikatsu but i really wish the characters had better high quality models that when bending members the mesh don't break, and obviously animated is better, specially with jiggles
3D by far, my dumb monkey brain just recognizes 3D as more attractive than 2D. The problem being 3D usually all the effort goes into the renders, making the game itself worse.
I like both equally, but 3d is better for these games. 2D just takes too long and unless you're an established artist, won't have the initial support to continue developing the game in most cases. Sometimes it works out, but yeah.
3D typically doesn't have a Linux version, and very often when you finally get them to run on Linux it turns out that they require a gamer PC or turn your PC into a toaster or something. Or the visual quality is crap. Exceptions such as Fallen Doll are rare treasures, but typically don't have a lot of content.
I generally prefer ordinary Ren'Py games. Some of them are huge, with amazing story telling that you would never see in a 3D game that is not an AAA production.
