Lately ive been playing a lot of 3d, but both have their merits. for 2D the art is usually more consistently good, and especially for the Japanese ones quite a bit longer with a more in depth story.
If game done well, you won't look at 3d that or 2d. Quality most of all. If there shitty 3d models, or 2d arts that made in Paint, you won't have enjoyment.
hate 3D games. only good thing about them is that they are usually animated as its easier to animated a 3D model, but otherwise i really dont like how they look. most of them also have very similar models have the time and it gets boring.
I wonder what motivates this preference. 2D and 3D can be emotionally satisfying with a good story. I assume it depends if the player is interested solely in the fantasy and narrative or immersion oneself in the experience.
