Do you play your VN's always in English or in your mother's language, if supported?

Since I learnt English very early on I always prefer English in everything, even reading, so I don't think I would ever play a game in my native language unless it was the only language available in the game

English. A sizeable percentage of the millennials and majority of the younger generations prefer english. Only boomers like my parents still prefer to communicate in our mother tongue or dialect.

Since I learned english, english.

Porn games translated to my language sounds so silly that I cant take them seriously

English I guess.

English.

My language has lot of nuances, various inflections and such, so in my opinion it'd definitely be better conveying different ideas, BUT...
I have learned that most translations, specially fan-made ones, are made based on the English text, be it the original or even another translation. And many of them are made by people who aren't that proficient at the language, to the point of having to rely on machine translation and/or sometimes even translating figures of speech literally (which obviously isn't right).

Edit: Also, fan-made translations usually have a lot of grammar mistakes and slangs (not just in the speeches of characters that would use it, even on more mature/formal dialogues or narration, so that makes me a little annoyed, too)

Both are the same.

I don't get why anyone would waste time and budget translating any hgame. English is the global language.

I always play in english even if my language is available.
I like it more anyway, and most VNs are only playable in english.

Always in English. Translations often lose some meaning in the process

English. Havent find any game whit my language yet (swe)

English as it's what I've gotten used to. Though I've tired German and Italian on occasion.

I try to learn a couple of words in english. I google in English, I visit sites in english, although russian has enough materials

English. Games in my own language are rare and when translated it's most times not very well done, missing subtleties, puns etc...

English... because I'm British.

I always play in English (second language). That way you always have consistency in all games, even if they don't support your native language.

Depends on the native language of the developer. If the developer is a native speaker of my mother language, I play in my native language. In all other cases - in English.
