I don't most of the time. When I have to I usually just pick "John" because it feels like the most generic male name possible lol

I would like an option to NEVER change ANY name. Too much of a hassle and for what? There is no reason to. Even if you like immersion.

Yes, I usually give the MC dumb names like Duncan Dillweed or Dooley Douglas

Yeah, I have a regular default I use for my MC's name (it's not my own, but it's one I wish I'd been named). I also have 2 or 3 others I like to use if the facial look of the MC fits them better.
I almost always install Universal RenPy Mod, to browse the inbuilt character names and check for clashes before proceeding with my chosen name.
I also occasionally have bit of fun renaming other male characters to have silly names (especially antagonists, or rivals).

I am usually always going for anon, to be honest no particular reason, I think the first game had it preset as anon so I guess I was just going with that flow
