If it's a cool name I don't change it. But if it's something like Horny MC Long Dick I tend to change it

I use the same male name every time unless there's a good pre picked name
and I sometimes struggle to pack a woman's name.

Not a real fan of naming the characters if the character has a background or history. In games like skyrim, I don't care because the character has no background so you don't have any relation to a name. But if the characters history influences the story, the characters should have a fixed name. I mean, you don't rename the protagonists in novels just so you can better imagine yourself a him/her, so why allow it in a story driven game..

Almost always my name for most of the self insert VNs. Only exception I make is in Japanese visual novels, if the girls actually call the MC's name. I'm going for default name, "yes I'm Hino-kun, Marika". First one to get that reference, reply and I will be sure to like your comment.

Nah, I don't see myself as the MC while playing these games, so I find it pointless.

Yes, I change all the possible names, for the mc I usually change it to my name and, if possible, I change other characters names too for names of women I know or have met in real life.

There are games that I like to have greater immersion than others.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that does it this way. I usually insert myself as the MC, and unless its popular names like from a show or something, I change other character names to people I would want to do lewd stuff to IRL.

Just curious - what do you, guys, name your MC in the games where name change is possible? Do you keep it default or do you change it?
I always change his name to Dylan, named after Captain Dylan Hunt of "The Andromeda Ascendant" cuz that TV show is one of the very few old time masterpieces.

I change the name just about every time. I have had a few times where I either went back to not change it, usually if either the MC in question actually has a rather unique personality or just has a name that I have 0 association with. Tho my go to for name changing is Jack, its a name I don't associate with anyone I know so I know I won't be thinking of someone when jerking it.

i change the name everytime. As to how i decide i just mash my keyboard for a couple of secs so dfzgjh is the unique mc that i control but there is still a degree of separation from me and the character.
