Animations are great and help elevate poorer art. I think 3D art (Koikatsu etc) is a good way to get easy animations.

Animations are great, but pixel art holds a special place in my heart. I still remember some pixel rpg games that had some scenes that were happening by just moving around. Damn, I miss that. And I never found the game again.
