For now, mime and apollo have full control over LC and will be handling site decisions going forward. I’m stepping back from making site changes for now and letting them decide how to move LC forward. - Jack Of Blades

For a new games I just wait until a few updates for me to play

I usually play the first versions, and if it intrigued me I'm probably gonna play every new update, if it's meh then I can get back to it 2-3 updates later and see how it is, and then decide if to go on following it or just discard it

I only play completed games but have also ventured into the realm of abandoned ones before.

If it looks like it might be interesting, I'll jump in right at the start. The thing that always bugs me though is when I get excited to see a game posted as version 1.0 only to find out it only just started development and that the dev meant 0.1.0

4. Less likely to be prematurely abandoned, and there are usually enough reviews to get an idea

I"ll give it a try early on. If it looks good I'll come back. If I don't like it, I may come back based on coments of other players.

I'll give anything a try, but if a game is too lacking initially I'll give it at least 3-4 versions (or 3 months if the versions are bigger) before I try again.

I play only Completed games. Completed as in the update interval increases from days > months > years > none. I’ll play it at the years part. So Abandoned games also fit this description.

I prefer to wait for games to be a bit far into development since i think they are less likely to be abandoned down the line

New games i play the first available version (or the one i stumble upon). After playing that I decide wether it is worh my time or no. If it is I will come back to check the game after a year.

I'll try out a game in 0.1 or demo if the outline is interesting but if it looks a little bare bones I'll check the comments to see if anyone has posted about short playing time.

When an AVN gets past the initial setup is when the developer has to really start delivering the story as a whole and that is when it either gets going or gets stuck.

I shy away from demos or 0.1s. I've never been an early adopter. For me, it depends how much content there is. If the game interests me it leaves me wanting more which often feels like it's taking ages. Fuckin' hate that! :ROFLMAO:
I guess it's different for you as a dev. You probably kinda have to check out what others are doing.

Also: You got dev status but not members+? Shouldn't you get that by default?

I'm a dev but yeah long update time sucks, no argument here :D
I wish I could produce an update once a month instead of every 3 or 4

I don't have enough coins yet, I'm pretty new here

yeah developing a game solo takes time i would guess. Absolutly understandable.

Regarding your Members+: i remember devs where able to apply directly for that. was a few weeks ago, though. Maybe check the post about that again and message the big guy.

I'm using a software that updates what games are released on a certain website & usually will take a glance at any new game that pops up.
If it looks interesting, I usually bookmark or DL the game and take a look when I'm in the mood for that genre/fetish.

Depending on the quality of the game & my interest, and how big updates are, I may play every new update (e.g. Eternum) or wait a couple updates until it's featuring enough content that I can play at least for a while since I don't like playing 20 minutes and then being drawn out of the game again.

Usually when a game nears its end (e.g. The Last Sovereign, Fetish Locator) I stop playing them and wait for the final update & maybe the first patch.
I don't like finding myself halfway in the finale, then having to wait, forgetting characters & disconnecting from the setting.

Even if it's a v0.001, of it catches my eye, I'll play it. I play even games that are already abandoned.
If I started playing only completed games I'd miss a lot of good games. And ongoing games usually have more discussion and you can give your opinion to the dev.

I always prefer playing completed games whenever I can. Whenever I find a game I had never heard about, and it looks good, and it is complete, I feel like I discovered a hidden gold mine, specially if it has a lot of content. But since that doesn't happen often, I also play games in progress, like everyone else. I usually try to avoid a 0.1 or 0.2 release, unless the games looks interesting enough or it looks like there's actually a good amount of content on those first versions. But otherwise I prefer to avoid getting teased by a very small amount of content, and then risk the developer never continuing the game, and getting metaphorically blue-balled forever.

I skip the first three or four updates to make sure the developer is serious. And then... It all depends on many factors. If I see serious reviews, in which the game is subjected to serious, well-justified criticism - I'm unlikely to download such a game at all.

Same here. I'm used to unfinished stories at this point, it doesn't bother me anymore.
