depends on the amount of content and game, i will play all updates from certain devs like seath, inceton, etc. else wait 2-3 updates

I usualy play in the current version when i discover the game, then some of them ill play as it releases and others ill wait to stack content

sooner you jump in the ooner i can tell if its my cup of tea

I usually play in the current version when it' update it to discord 😇

yah depends on the content if the update is just filler content and dosnt advance the story that much is not worht it

usually wait until the file size is a gig or two

I will start when I first download and will wait a month to come back. That was enough time for me to remember how the game started

0.0001 Demo Prologe Tech Test is when the sky is the limit.

Really though I jump into the last page and see where the plot is at. A game like Wife and Mother you would think is well into the story based on the version and how long it's out but it isn't.

I thought I'd start a discussion on a topic I am genuinely interested in - rather than the topics that are being started simply to score engagement/points/coins/credits/wishes/etc. I really would like to know peoples opinion on this!
When a game is added... Are you someone who will play anything and everything? Or do you wait for a certain level of finish? Do you only play Complete games? Or what?
For me... when I first found these games, I would play everything - regardless of when it released or how often it was updated - now though, I find myself only really playing Completed games unless something really catches my eye. I've realised the sheer number of games, even playing Completed games takes awhile.

That said, there's a few games I picked up at the start which I eagerly watch updates for... But then I try and wait, so I can pick them up with a large update of content.
I don't play 0.1 versions at all it's 9/10 times a waste of time. it depends if the dev is taking their time or just pumping out updates. in my experience devs that pump out updates tend to suck.

Usually waiting until the download is 2gb+. Just because the version numbers for each game are so different and sometimes 0.2 has more content than 14.2.8-beta-final-gold :D

I usually start after about 3 updates, unless the first update has a lot of content (atleast claimed by the dev).

honestly i look at the comments and see if theres enough content or if it looks promising

at least .2 so i know it wasnt imediatly abandoned

I might start out with trying a game that looks really new to test out how it looks to start, but I do try to not touch something that's too new without content to avoid getting into the depths of it, then just reaching the wall of needing more content and being sad. It especially sucks when you like the story, like when I first saw SSP and I reached the end within an hour or 2 and was like, damn I need more of this. Even if I don't immediately look into something though, I am always excited to see new things, partly because I like the idea of people getting into a passion project

I llok at 0.1 as like a demo and if it catches my attention i keep an eye on updates but only jump back in at like 0.5 or something

Usually i don't play a game until there is a good amounts of content so yes 80% of the game i play are complete.
But if i see a game with lot of update i'm gonna try it and pray it will not become an abandoned game

if there is at least 1 scene, you can watch it, and then go by the content. I've seen games with a lot of updates but the scenes only appeared towards the end...

I'll check out a 0.1 if its got a decent compressed size, otherwise I usually wait a few updates to see if it's going to keep being updated and get some more content.
