Your thoughts on mini games in games?

After doing it several times they start to get bored

if done well they do add some enjoyment but most the time they are just tedious

I greatly dislike them, they interrupt the game too much.

Not a fan. If the option is there to skip them pretty much skip them every time. If no option to skip and they become to tedious, or time consuming, or you have to repeatedly play them to get enough points to progress, and they don't really add anything to the overall game it may be time to move on to another game.

Depends on the type of game it is. I will skip it if feels like padding for time or dose not belong in the game type.

Let's look at it objectively and from a game design perspective.

Mini games are by definition trash. If it was fun and engaging, it wouldn't be a minigame, it would become part of core gameplay. And if a scene could do without, it wouldn't be there either. So ultimately, a mini game exists to plug up a hole in game design, where the designer didn't have the capacity to put something meaningful and engaging.

I think mini games are just about pointless.
If they are too easy they are a waste of time.
If they are too hard they are a waste of time.
There are exceptions to every rule, there was a game by ?. ?
I can't remember (been smoking since 4:20am)

Treasure of Nadia, NTL Prod.
That's the one, tons of Mini Games,
I actually Liked them they made you think.🤔
and were kinda fun, but the game was very interesting itself with good story.
all those games in a bad game would suck.

Hit or miss for sure, some minigames are even better that the own game they're on.

I don't mind some, but stuff like Sudoku can fuck right off. Simple ones are okay, but timed ones with short clocks or BS that requires millisecond reaction speeds are incredibly lame. If the minigames are required for optimal paths or best results upon success and failure giving the worst result in the story is incredibly off putting. Mild stimulation is fine, but don't give me headache, basically.

They are usually boring and best to be skipped

Avoidable minigames is ok, but unnecessary.

Mixed feelings really. Most of the time I'm annoyed by them and I skip if I have the opportunity. I might play them if they add value to the story/game like spin off or bonus content or, more simply, resolving them is part of the story.

Most I hate -- The timed ones because I am too old for that and the skill ones -- still too old for that

for the most part i like minigames. unless they are to complex or tedious

It depends on the game; if it starts with only sex scenes and lacks a plot, then minigames become unnecessary. However, if the game features a plot and character development, it becomes entertaining to play minigames to unlock scenes or complete quests to earn points, which can then be used to build relationships with specific characters.

Those mini games i hate them... If i can skip them i do... If not the game needs to be reaaaaaally good.

I dont' like minigames. They are waste of time.
