Your thoughts on mini games in games?

I rather they not be in game. I always opted to skip them if possible.
I find them annoying especially if it is timed and there is no instruction on what you are supposed to be doing and time runs out. And mini games don't always work correctly for one reason or other.

I usually skip. They become tedious or grinding. If they are "easy" then why not just make them a vn clip instead. I don't feel the need to tap on different areas of a screen

Not a fan mini games. seems like a gimmick that dev needed throw in to stall for time.

Depends on the type of mini-game. Some I despise...others I am meh.
I don't mind the puzzle piece type where you drag and drop the pieces to make a picture...but I hate the slider ones.
Timed mini-games annoy me too because I am old and my reflexes aren't want they used to be. heh

For me to appreciate it at all it would have to make sense within the story - and it would need to have actual fun gameplay.. AND it would need to have some significant reward for doing well in it. All of that, and it cannot take too long.

As an example - You bring a nerdy girl on a date to an arcade; girl challenges you to beat her in a game, or to beat a highscore on a machine, whatever.. it's a well programmed, fun gameplay mini-game that takes 30-60 seconds. If you fail, no reward.. if you do reasonably well, u might get a handy in the bathroom; you do great? might get a blowjob.. You actually crush the game and beat the highscore -> she'll show you heaven in that bathroom.

That.. I could deal with. All that being said, 99% of the time, S K I P.

If it's gallery image unlockers, like the puzzle style. I let the voice in the back that's usually just humming incoherently take control for 5 mins.
Sometimes it results in less humming, and a new lewd to add to the gallery

In most games I don't like them. Sometimes it's just unclear what I have to do. Really frustrating.
And just some reaction clicking feels like an attempt to make the gameplay a bit longer.
So I don't think mini games add anything good to the games.

I've never felt mini-games were necessary...In fact I try to bypass them as much as I can. I absolutely hated them in Mass Effect and modded them the fuck out.

They are quite boring most of the time, there are few games that I don't skip if there is that option.

I don't like Minigames. There are not necessary for the most stories.

Yet to find one that I felt added to the experience- on the subject, feel like anything that adds reflex-based gameplay to a porn game defeats the purpose- like, by all means you can use RPG maker and have combat if you want, but don't give me a stealth mission or final boss that depends on precision gameplay- i'm here to fap, not stress myself out

They can be fun but most of the time they are annoying and ruin games for me.

Reason why I love developers who allow the player to skip them.
