Mini games

First, if the mini game cannot be avoided, then I check if it is easy or difficult, if it is easy I continue playing and if it is difficult I abandon the game.
If it can be omitted then I prefer that option.

I don't mind minigames if they're done well. I honestly really like the minigames in Being a DIK, And I felt like Steps of Debauchery had some fun, unobtrusive mini games in it. I hate trivia style minigames that allow you to unlock extra content though, they're supposed to be fun and not too difficult. If I want difficult I'll play a non-porn game.

Minigames are usualyl the worst.

If they are short and easy enough, I can tolerate them, but if they prohibit progression, are needlessly hard and/or long they can, and have, make me put down a game.

It's a fast uninstall when a VN has stupid puzzles fucking with the flow and pacing. It's such a bad trope that I don't think anyone asked for. If the entire game is build around some mechanics, that's fine.

a lot of mini games are bad quality. some are too hard for the game they are meant to be in. I dont mind them if they can be avoided/ skipped or lost to without locking anything behind the win. Ive seen minigames used to raise stats, if you win you get a greater increase. Those i dont mind too much as it just means you typically need to click through another run to get the neededstat.

At worst it's a stat grind, at best it's a pointless inclusion in that case, no? I agree it's not the end of the world if it's no too intrusive, but it always just feels like padding content imo

If they are only for stat grinding they are fairly pointless. and is just there to pad out the game. The optional minigames are best. or games where you can disable the minigames are even better

it depends on how much i like everything else about the game in question, if everything else is super good, i'll slog through it, if not, dumped and gone

Some are really getting out of hand. Recently played one that was at v07 and almost 2 years in yet the questions in the mini game was including responses from characters in v02. How in FORK am I to remember that?

I hate them... I fucking hate all of them. Dude, my braint doesnt work while... doing other things, you know?? And some are really hard with time limit and shit... like, DEV?? -.-

The mini-games are often pointless and boring.
I don't like them.

Sometimes they work to advance a story like trying to get into a safe and you have to search for clues to the combination but things like a random puzzle to piece together for no reason is just annoying.

I find some mini games fit with VNs if it goes along with the theme. But it can't last too long or it needs to be incorporated into the VN with story elements. Like a maze in a horror scenes type of thing. Or a point and click puzzle for a detective scene. Things like this make sense. But I think you would only enjoy it if you were really into the plot by that time.

Sadly Recently there have been a lot of mini games, that have no purpose but to extend play time

get them out or at least option to skip them

I like them when they’re not too bothersome, but there have been times when they’ve frustrated me enough to make me delete some games.

Depends on the minigame. QTE are a reason for instant deletion. That's valid for regular games and porn games.
But there are mini-games that are fun. I don't know if it counts, but the poker combat of Love of Magic is fun. And I like the match 3 combat of Puzzle Quest. ... However, that's more core mechanic and not mini-game.
