What game, or games, do you have to mod to be able to enjoy playing them?

Used to play this game all the time as a kid, definitely gonna have to check out the mod scene for it.

Otherwise I mod Skyrim, Mount and Blade and Total War games. Used to have to mod games all the time for random bug fixes, but haven't done much in a quite a while...

You nailed it.
I have to mod basically any Bethesda game. Any Mount and Blade game. Any Total War game.
I do tend to keep the Total War mods to a minimum, though. Usually QoL sorts of stuff, or removing AI's ability to completely ignore core features of the game that allow for strategic play on the world map.
