Unabashed Ren'Py fan here. As a fan of python code, I think it is a good suite. It has allowed many people who previously couldn't get over development hurdles, to make their dream games. I think that's pretty cool.

As for the others, unity of course, has a place in my heart. Games going WAY back used unity. More modern titles like Third Crisis have used it to great effect. Even Godot has some interesting games worth checking out, like Barely Working, although they don't get finished that often... Bottom line, they all are pretty cool as long as they give people the freedom to realize their passion.

P.S. Last line is cringe I know

Ren'py. I can understand the appeal of RPGM if it's a game with combat, but if it's a game with just dialogue and renders I don't like to spend 5 minutes walking around the map just to talk to the next person to get the next scene. Much easier with a click

i dont really have a favorite but the few games i have tried in RPG maker i have not enjoyed idk if its the type of games that they did in that engine or if its just a hard engine to work with but i have never found it to my taste.

I've really liked some RPGM games in the past - but after a while they all start to feel really same-y (not just because they all use the same assets).

Ren'py for sure. RPGM is something I steer clear from at all times.

Ren'py, but i do sometimes enjoy RPGM with turn based combat, but most of them dont have choices in them which can get annoying

Renpy all the way, never will try anything else. Why? Dont know, but dont care, thats just how it is.

Renpy is my favorite so far. It's just easier to use i feel than others.

Ren'py is mostly the best. But RPGM games are awesome, when everything (story, characters, tags...) appeals to you. The problem is, if it's not 100% what you expect from the game, you won't be inclined to invest your time in it, since you can't really rush a RPGM game, unlike a Ren'py game. But when it's perfectly similar to what you like, RPGM games are incredible :)

Renpy and Unity most of the games ive played and enjoyed were made using those engines sometimes I may let HTML games slide.

Ren'py for sure. I mostly read visual novels and most other engines just ruin the experience or make it hard to do simple things like saving the game.

Like so many others i also really like renpy due to the underlying python library it works on nearly all systems without too much of a hassle, as well as a making games fairly easy to mod even for somone with not much programing experience.

For me, definitely Ren'py. Unity is not bad either, but we are all so familiar with Ren'py and it just works for what a dev needs.

Ren'py for sure. There are a few RPGM games that are done well (not large maps), and Unity can be good when it's a VN style game.

Renpy. But off course the amount of effort put into a game is way more important the the engine.

I avoided RPGM for a long time... and then I tried Summer Memories Plus. I avoided html - and then I tried Masters of Raana and The Monastery.

If was making a game I would use the engine that allows you to make the game as quickly as possible. Spending months learning every corner of Unity before giving up is a way worse outcome than producing the game quickly in Renpy - unless you want features that are unavailable in other engines.

Universal renpy mod makes renpy the easiest to use engine from a player's perspective at least
And extracting game files can be fun sometimes
But even before I found out about this it was still the best for me because of unlimited save slots and rollback

Renpy is my favorite, especially because I use the rollback feature constantly and it drives me crazy to not be able to go backwards and make different choices. I also have a habit of saving whenever I particularly like a render or make choices so that I have a kind of abridged picture book of the game in my saves menu. Makes it nice for returning to games when their is an update since I can just scroll through the thumbnails to remember what was going on.

-Renpy is the most userfriendly imo.
-Unity is awesome when done right and even full on 3d games work, which i don't think works with renpy.
-HTML is somewhat in the middleground for me. The Interface is easy, but usually its 2d games and most of them are just a collection of real porn pictures...
-I dislike rpgmaker games, i just don't like the interface.
-QSP is one i don't really get in to. there are some good games out there, but it really takes some time to get a hang of it.
