Easy to say, but its not a stretch to think that just maybe he has people dependent on him and blowing up his life "on principle" is not going to help put food in their mouths or a roof over their heads. If he got outed for this kind of thing, losing his job would be the least of his worries. Taking one for the team (the team being his family) would be the right choice in that situation. Has that dev in Australia managed to "rebuild better than before" yet? How many years ago did that happen?

Some damage can't be fixed. If it were "just" a case of quitting your hobby or getting a divorce, I could maybe see choosing the hobby and deciding the marriage isn't worth saving if the wife is forcing the choice. However, being outed as a "loli-lover" is something that would destroy most people's lives, even if they haven't done anything technically illegal. Mass desertion by friends and family, loss of job, possible police harassment, having your stuff vandalized, etc. are all possible consequences of being exposed as a "rock spider" even outside Asstrailia.

Eh I'd rather have 0 friends if the bastards are all just going to be judgemental assholes about it, whatever it is they are judging me for. I literally have 0 shits to give about those types. I get enough of that just from simply being open about having kids with my sister, and it's a good way to filter out who your fake friends are and get rid of those wastes of time and energy. As far as I'm concerned 3 good ones that don't give a shit about what you do (for a living or otherwise) or what your interests are, who you love or wanna make babies with, etc and would not only take a bullet for you but even help you dispose of a body and clean up a murder scene if it was necessary after a 3am call are better than 300 fake ones that would ghost or cancel you over dumb shit. I imagine if I was already open about making loli games too (and I probably will be when that time comes, I really give 0 shits what people outside a few real friends, my sister, and our kids think of me, fuck them if they don't like it) it wouldn't be much different, only just another different reason. If the subject of lolis (usually AVNs) comes up in casual conversation with a stranger while in a line or something (though predictably it doesn't often, AVNs in general are kinda niche anyway) I simply don't hide my enthusiasm, get a few weird looks and probably never see/hear from them again. It wasn't that long ago (maybe 10-15 years) loli conventions were as common as comicons here and people didn't think that much of it, the police were there to enforce the fire building capacity code and the general security that any large gathering gets more than watch out for vigilantes or terrorists or to arrest the event organizers. As far as police harassment, having a lawyer send them a friendly reminder letter to the chief or sheriff to knock it off or be sued tends to make them back off rather quickly. Also never underestimate self-employment, aside from multiple other advantages there's no employer or boss to kiss the asses of and you can't lose a job you dont have in the first place, no matter what you do (kinda the opposite of being a politician where you have to kiss everyone's asses, or at least the right ones while maintaining a fake facade to everyone).

So apparently he made a post on his discord and revealed why he abandoned his games. I am not on his discord anymore but someone gave me the TLDR version and basically his wife wasn't happy with him spending so much time on the games.

Well, things in life always need a balance. I mean pretty much any girl/woman is going to get annoyed if you spend so much time on your hobby (which even when it makes money they are still going to see it as a hobby) that they feel neglected/ignored. I mean my sis doesn't mind if I fap to AVNs even daily, but if I don't fuck her too sometimes when she's in the mood because my dick is always too sore or something she's going to get pissed off about it. He could have simply cut back on the daily hours and lengthened the release cycle (even if limited to 5 hours a day and 6 months apart I wouldn't have minded and would still stay subbed), not completely stop it. Unless making AVNs was an addiction of his or something and cold turkey was the only way he could deal with that. Either way, still sucks. At least some of the other good devs were smarter and just stayed single.

Let's just hope this is the future. I really liked both this and season 1, and I wonder what the dev had in store for us.

It was mentioned that the Daz files for Our Island were all deleted, so sadly that one's probably never coming back at the very least, even if 13 did. And some wife giving ultimatums during some argument isn't as far fetched as some AVN plots. It's a pretty common tool used to win those arguments way too often.

I didn't play Our Island, only The Fosters 1 and 2, so I don't know how good it is. That said, I have no experience of programming in Ren'py, but I guess even if he deleted everything himself, he could just import it from the uploaded game if he ever wanted to continue development, right? Or is that not possible with Ren'py?

Just making the renders is tedius work in Daz. Every object you see is made and put there in a particular position before rendering (not just models, clothes and furniture but things like table cloths, dishes and silverware and whatever customizations for the rooms/walls in eg a dining room scene) and it can take an hour to the better part of day or more to set up a scene (which might make 20-50 renders with minor differences and camera angles before having to do it all over again for the next scene). So he had probably thousands of files either bought from the Daz store and/or made by himself, all of which either he or someone else would have to recreate and buy again if he/they wanted to continue from this point if he deleted them all (possibly thousands of hours and dollars worth) = very unlikely for that to get resurrected like any other abandoned AVN since you can't simply take apart a render and get the stuff used to make it back, no more than you can take a finished song recording and unmix the individual tracks put together that made it.

Ok I can see maybe stopping the Fosters 2 Back to school for his wife because of all the hebes. But he did a 13 five gaming idea set that he said he was going to maybe work on, and they weren't that bad. I think it was the hours he was putting in.

The twins and the Aunt were used in The Daddy Plan by Shaddy Games, so they might still exist, unless he deleted the files after using them. I still would assume the game is extremely dead and never coming back.
