A new cleanup update has been posted covering the recent Vault rework, rank changes, policy cleanup, and theme polish.
The goal is to make LC cleaner, easier to understand, and safer for the site going forward.

We don't even know the reason why he had to stop working on the games. He was planning on releasing another update for our island clearly something really serious must have happened for him to suddenly just drop everything. Being angry and attacking the dev won't solve anything. It sucks, but we just have to move on.
He had suggested that there were one or two updates to this game, and then he would go back to Our Island. It was supposed to happen this year. Something happened in his personal life that required him to immediately drop the games and stop all work on them, permanently. I just hope he is doing OK because this was an abrupt change. I have seen devs slowly check out of their own games until the game updates stop coming. That was not the case here. Something happened that has not been publicly disclosed, so all we can do is wish him the best with whatever happened.

I can't believe what you're saying. The fact is: after PROUD FATHER ended, the world turned upside down! And I suspect that this is the real reason why most Loli games are discontinued. Or ?

If it had something to do with the law because of the games, the authorities would just seize all his stuff as evidence. Deleting all his stuff wouldn't help either because you can still find his games on the internet and it probably would only make things worse because he was trying to hide evidence.

Yeah that would just get tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice charges added, though it's in the US so that's very unlikely. Plus like Westy it would be all over the local news and also end up in searchable public court records listed by charge, no name needed, as getting pinched for a game you made here would be something that never happened before. Whatever it was it sucks he didn't just tell us why and put the endless speculation to rest. At least Goosenards keeps us in the loop, even when it's just causing a 1-2 week delay (though too much detail can be a bad thing too I guess, a few sentences usually suffice rather than a few paragraphs).

What I meant is that they would seize all of his equipment and all of his online accounts. So he wouldn't even be able to post or delete anything. The fact that he was able to tell his supporters that he was going to abandon his games and was able to delete his stuff leads me to believe that the authorities aren't involved.

If the authorities were involved, it would be all over the place. They would make an example of him to scare others from creating this kind of content (again, the fictional stuff, anything more and you get what you deserve) despite it being legal in many if not most states (ie. we aren't going to end up charging you with a crime, but we're going to make sure everyone knows what you're doing). Plus SubscribeStar is a US based company, if the authorities requested data about the content the dev posted, SubscribeStar would likely have to give it to them so deleting the page would only be used against the dev.
We may never know… It's been over a month without a peep from 13 about what happened.
On 8/3 there was a surprise "I will be going out of town", but continued work was still planned. Then on 8/14 he abruptly bails on his supporters, cancels everything, and deletes all the game assets. That feels like more than just 'My wife demanded I stop'
I want to feel bad for 13. I mean, I'm going to guess that, for most solo developers, these games are a labor of love. If that's the case, having to erase it all as if it never happened has got to suck.
What happened indeed, a mystery that has yet to be solved. Something tells me unless someone wants to burn money on private investigators at a rate of $100-200 an hr each we won't ever know. Jimmy Hoffa's remains will probably be found first.

To me this looks like a reaction to an ultimatum. Someone important in his life may have discovered this hidden side of him gave him a choice, and he made the right one. Sad for us but hopefully it works out for him. I too will miss his work and this game in particular.

Yeah this is why I mostly have a no-secrets policy at the start, so there are no rude discoveries, blackmail fuel, and other sources of unnecessary stress (or things that can put a stop to my main hobby or possibly even my sole income source). But if it were me and I found myself with someone that didn't support things I was passionate about honestly I'd start re-evaluating why I was still with them or why they were that important to me, especially if they just start handing out ultimatums and not even willing to discuss it or give an inch. To me that sounds like the seeds of a toxic relationship and a source of brewing resentment that will probably blow up later. Them not being just as much of a pervert as I am or at least in the same league would be a dealbreaker.
