for a romantic moment or where the scene requires it, music is not a disadvantage, although it is not good if it is overdone.

For me a game without sounds is a waste, it's dull and I don't immerse myself in the story, if it doesn't have animated scenes even worse, I just never finish those games!!!!!

It depends. I forgor most game names since I've played a lot of them but there are some that does add a bit of touch to the story telling. I encountered some too with music for meme purposes which gave me some laughs here and there.

It depends from the type of game and from the type of music.

I like music in the game, especially when the dev takes time to choose appropriate tracks.

In AVN i think it's just a waste of dev time, i'm always muting them anyway.

When placed appropriately it can enhance a scene, but it can be pretty distracting when executed poorly. So long as music can be muted separately from everything else it's not a big deal though.

I do like music in games, but for some reason I often find the music in AVNs annoying and often turn it off.

I played Jap VN's for years which are almost all voiced and have music before there were so many Western ones so playing with no sound feels weird to me, music only makes a game better even a generic track on a loop imo.

If a game doesn't have any music, I have to play my own on the background. I also feel like music, when well placed, can make the scene more memorable

I don't care at all, cause i dont use the game sound. The only exception are voiced games but even then the music isnt that much important.

yes, music adds so much characteristics to a game.

This is essentially what I was going to say. I like good music choices in a game, some of the music in Being a DIK is pretty good. The Spinney has fairly appropriate porn music, a bit repetitive, but so is porn music.

Some games need music to cut through the dead silence, a lot don't even have any kind of sound effect

There have been games where i liked the music, but most of the time i play with sound completely off so

Doesn't really matter, I usually listen to asmr in the background.
