Most of the times it is even necessary, but I think sometimes it can ruin some in-game moments too. Like when is it not used correctly and with a good timing.

From my gamer experience, I found plenty of games lacking in the music department. I guess I've been spoiled by sports games from before 2010s. Some games had good licensed music that stuck with me for years.
RPG Maker games tend to neglect the BGM section infamously.

My Gold standard is the Tony Hawk Pro skater series.

Memory unlocked. Duke Nukem: Time to Kill, and Nightmare Creatures II

Of course, but a lot of times it's not done right and kills the atmosphere. If there isn't music or not done properly, I just mute and put on a youtube playlist.

I once played a Guitar Hero game without music, something was definitely missing.

I don't care if games have music or not. If it's done well it's really cool, but I think I generally just mute it or turn it down

it do be hard to fap when the music is too groovy. Like now my pp is soft but my head is banging. I like it when games have a good variety, because if you trying to fap for 4+ hours, your not trying to listen to the same 2min background soundtrack the whole time. I think Midnight Paradise has a pretty good background music selection. really gets you in the mood especially for its story based moments.

Unless it has good sound effects or something, should always have music. Complete silence during scenes feels... off

music is nice, tho admittedly I usually have everything muted for the nightmare scenario of headphones disconnecting and whatnot

I usually don't mind it if it fits with what's happening. I admit though, I usually have it muted and play my own background music.

Yes. It's lossless. It's an improvement for most people and the ones who don't like it can turn it off.

I must admit that when a game has no music, I feel very alone... but when the music doesn't match the scene, it pulls me right out of the experience. When it's perfectly balanced, though, it's the best thing ever

music is one of the tools of the soundscape, which is a very important part of the design of any media that can use it

I'm sure having moments where the music turns off could help with the atmosphere of the scene, especially for a more horror-based game. However having played games on mute before and not having as great of an experience compared to replaying them months later with audio, I think music is pretty damn near mandatory.

Honestly even just some elevator music in the background is fine, something to drown out the mouse clicking.

Yes, absolutely! A game without music is like a pub without beer. How am I supposed to fight a dragon, save the world, or mow down zombies without some dramatic music in the background? I’m not 20 anymore, but even I need a proper soundtrack to feel like a legend. 😂

I always mute porn games. For any other game, music IS what makes a game great. Music can take a mediocre game to a good one and can take a good game to greatness. Games like metal gear solid revengeance would not be the same without music.

In the porn games If the dev spent time making music for the game - why not
But usually its some copyright free music or ai slop, that's why the first thing i do after launching is turning off the music, so... i won't even notice the decent music i think unless people r speaking about it

if it fits in the game, like good story-driven or "good cinematic" scenes for example. most of them dont need any music and i play without because its bad or really dont fit.
