Pregnancy is one of my all-time biggest fetishes, and what I most like is when games give it what I see as its proper "weight" when it comes to story, character, and mechanics. Too many games tack pregnancy on as an afterthought and include only brief renders in an epilogue, most often without sex scenes; but games that revolve around pregnancy and breeding often commit a similar mistake when they try to streamline the process too much.
Depending on the setting and framing, pregnancy can symbolize a bond of affection and devotion (loving couple), or else submission (D/s, slaves), or else defilement (monsters, rape), but in all cases it's a
burden on the woman, so I think particular care should be taken with regards to her reaction to the pregnancy and how she lives it over a period of time, all depending on the circumstances in which she got pregnant. This is why, while I don't mind if a game time skips from impregnation to show a couple scenes during pregnancy and then skips again to after the birth, I much prefer it if when a game takes its time and shows how pregnancy affects the woman in a variety of situations. Breeding games, in order to let women pump out as many children as possible, often shorten the duration of the pregnancy considerably and don't do anything to mark pregnancy as a special condition, as it's assumed most women will be pregnant most of the time anyway. To me, this works against the appeal the game is trying to go for, because it has the effect of minimizing the actual pregnancy, when the goal should be to highlight it.
The way games treat pregnancy can often significantly hurt their level of realism and my personal suspension of disbelief. Harem games frequently have all the love interests choosing to become pregnant at the exact same time (they often end up giving birth on the same day too, which is ludicrous), which makes zero sense no matter how much money the protagonist has: Like I said, pregnancy is a burden, and so are children, and it's insane to have all the women of the household go through it at the same time (especially if the protagonist
isn't a gazillionaire, because then they all have to take leave from work at the same time), and then instead of having one or two children to ease the inexperienced characters into parenthood, they suddenly have a dozen, which is bound to be a nightmare. On the other hand, postapocalyptic games often have characters staunchly refuse to have children because of the state the world is in, saying they want to wait until things get better. As it happens, as the game progresses, they will find themselves joining a refugee camp or else solving the zombie apocalypse altogether, but in reality there was no reason to expect these things; unless you're prepared to never have children, you can't hold out in the hopes that your crapsack world will magically fix itself.
For the content that appeals to me, beyond specific sex acts, I like it, as stated above, when the pregnancy takes its toll and is a cause for preoccupation (good or bad) for the woman going through it as well as the others around her. Of course, one highlight is the changes to the woman's body and how she and others notice and react to them, but this can take several forms:
- A pregnant women is super enthusiastic and constantly chirping about how much she can't wait to meet her children. She could simply be in a regular happy relationship, or she could be a submissive or slave who's stoked about the "honour" her master bestowed upon her by giving her a child.
- A pregnant woman is constantly racked with morning sickness, fatigue, and cravings. If she's pregnant from her lover, she could be super needy towards him while she complains about her symptoms. If she's pregnant from rape, she can angst about it.
- The father of the child (or the other girls in the case of a harem) is constantly stopping by to rub the pregnant woman's belly or grope her engorged breasts, etc.
- The father of the child reminds the pregnant woman that the child growing in her belly makes her his; or, from the opposite perspective, the pregnant woman draws attention to how she now belongs to him.
- A woman pregnant from a monster or animal wonders with curiosity or apprehension what her offspring will look like.
- A woman is used as a seedbed by tentacles or insects or whatever (willingly or unwillingly) who dote on her and see to her needs.
And so on and so forth.
For specific sex acts, any of the usual stuff is fine (just involving a pregnant woman), but there are a couple stand-outs:
- Belly play: rubbing or slapping the penis against the pregnant belly. I think any play that draws attention to the cause and effect, like saying "You're the reason I'm like this right now," and such, is super hot.
- Botezuri, or double pregnant belly-job: the holy grail of pregnancy content, as far as I'm concerned.
- Girl-on-girl. I'm a big fan of lesbian content in general, and pregnancy is no exception. Seeing one girl grope another, grind against her, or worship her body is insanely hot, and even more so when one or both are pregnant. Even things of which I'm not that big a fan when it's with a man, like breastfeeding, suddenly become impossible to look away from when it's two women. There's also the potential for great dialogue, because whereas with a man and woman the man is like, "Yeah, I got you pregnant, how about that," another woman can talk about her own experience with pregnancy and what the the first can expect, or else she can wonder at how she too will soon have her first child and. Two women can draw more attention to the physical effects of pregnancy, as you have two bodies to compare. And in general seeing sisterhood and women bonding over the commonalities of the female condition is interesting to me, and pregnancy makes for a great case.
As for my preferred appearance of the women, my preferences have always been pretty straightforward: conventionally attractive, on the slimmer side, idealized builds but within realistic proportions. It's the same for pregnancy: I can enjoy any variety that falls within that (admittedly limited) spectrum. So a petite girl struggling with a large belly is enjoyable to see, and so are curvier women; but what I consider to be attractively curvy is probably more subdued than a lot of the "MILF curves" you frequently see in games.
