I prefer both but I'd say plot is more important. A good sex scene needs to good story behind it.

Imagine the most amazing graphics humanly possible only for a guy say: "Me fuck u now k?"

To be fair, some younger women these days actually DO talk like that...

Ideally it has to be both (offcourse) ... But if not it depends on the mood (i can live with both)

Both, a good story gets better with graphics and good graphics gets better with good story

Need a baseline competent graphics quality, then I prioritize the premise and story.

Exactly, there is this game (well there are more), with 2 woman on the front picture, and they are so fucking ugly, but the game is rather popular. They said the story is good, well ugly won, I won't be trying it...

So both, need good graphics, so most are willing to give it a try, and then a good/interesting story/plot, so we keep playing it.

I would suggest BOTH, I would even suggest, that a game with many fuckscenes, isn't really nice to play, you probably would skip the scenes, to get to the sex scenes. A story, that builds up a love relation would be much more interesting to read.

If I would make a game, I would even have the option long story/short. Where short would give me only the text you need for the storyline. What I often miss, forexample with Summer Scent recently, I knew I loved the story, but it took such a long time to get 1 or 2 updates, that I fell out of love with the story. So I should have restarted the game, to understand the story again. Of course, having a love story with 2 girls and a boy, and then at once start to add a whole harem to it, doesn't really help either...

Both need to be above a certain threshold to be at least playable, everything above that will make it more enjoyable.

A lot of people have said both and i agree. What that means in practice is that a brilliant plot and crap graphics or amazing graphics and no plot are both a complete no for me. So if i have to compromise i would go for so-so graphics and a good but not necessarily amazing plot.

Hmm I'd agree that there is a threshhold for both. But I think for me graphics do have a higher threshold. If I dislike the graphics I won't touch it.

Anything cartoon looking is an absolute non-starter for me.

Strange question. Both. Don't matter how good story is if presentation is bad and vise versa.

It really depends on the game, but if the graphics are bad, I probably won't bother to find out if the story is any good.

The first thing is people see is graphics so obviously they matter, but after the graphics it's the plot decides whether they will stay or not

Retro games from the early to mid 80s are fairly popular on emulators, etc. Now look how often the (few) porn games from back then get downloaded. AFAIK they weren't very popular then, either.

Even though i think it depends, gun to my head i would say Graphics.
Other people have already said it here that graphics/art are good for attracting the attention since its something that unlike gameplay or plot you can judge at first sight.

But the third option which i think trumps all and is rare to find well made is the gameplay itself (pacing, fun factor, challenge-reward).

in AVN you cant have one without the other..
