I have a special hatred for that theme.
I can’t remember the name of the game now, but the character models were super cute. There were two or three female characters, and to progress in the story, you had to let the main character’s weird cousin NTR you… It wasn’t optional, if you wanted to move forward in the story, you had to watch the cousin fuck the girls you had won over.
Ever since then, I’ve hated that theme. Strangely, it shows up more often in Japanese games… Japan has a lot of fetishes that seem strange to me.

The worst part isn't even the genre itself but the fact that 99% of the time it involves some kind of hideous being that barely looks human, either mentaly, physically or both that clogs any enjoyability by being infuriating (like, why does this perfectly healthy human being just take it silently rather than strangling that barely formed blob of a human) . It's a strange kind of masochism in netorare, in netori at least it has the excuse of being a villain run though in that genre it could be much more interesting if the player has to deal with karma. Cuck centered games tend to veer into a strange kind of homosexuality, the affair partner is often portrayed in a kinder more humane way meanwhile the cuck is left eating the sexual scraps of both. the few games in that genre i went in due to thinking i could ignore the tag in favour of they having niche more desireable ones i had the feeling like i was doing a mistake and missing scenes, plus the general perspective of the scenes leaves much in details. Even in games that deal with humiliation and denial you still feel like you're getting the full package but my general experience with the genre is that getting less scenewise is a feature

I enjoy netori but I don't like netorare or netorase in games. It's different when I read h-manga because I can get off the depravity of the art, but in a game it just feels off when you're the MC.
I can understand why people who imagine it being done to them enjoy it as a form of helplessness or submission, but I understand even better why my fellow men don't enjoy getting off on the fear of being cheated. The human psyche is fascinating.

I think my biggest thing about it is the lack of loyalty. Whether you are the one committing it or its comitted against you, my brain just goes.. Where is the loyalty? How is this attractive? I won't yuck other peoples yums, but c'mon.

This, but I'm not too keen on Netori because it feels like the Pot calling the kettle black. I will make an exception for games that have themes of conquest for example. But even that is something I have a discerning eye when playing and will save-scum if it's both ways.

You just hit on one of the primary issues with "NTR" it is the label itself - lumping everything in the Infidelity genre under NTR is just ignorant, and let's not start with the idiotic conflation of Western 'cuckolding', 'sharing', 'swinging', etc. and the Japanese 'netorare', 'netorase', and 'netori' - are there similarities? Yes. Are they the same? No.
