I typically mute since other people are usually in the house, sleeping yeah but best not to take chances.

It's an appeal to normies. It seems to be used most for the 2d ones but then people are just staring at the same six drawing of characters at a 2.5 angle.

I take every reviewer and commenter less seriously if they say they want more voicework. Which seems to be every youtuber who talks about avns.

It's mixed for me.
Most voiced suck because they are made by unprofessionals and the moaning sound even more fake that in porn.
But sometimes you get a good one, with a voice that tingles all your nerves in the right way.

To be honest, i tend to mut these games. That's why i tend to finks that voicing VNs for devs a lil bit overkill (better to focus on development of game)

As long as the VA is good, I don't have a problem with it.
We all know how horrible porn with real plot can be. Especially if you are old enough to remember porn from the 90. When they tried to be more like real movies, with inexperienced/uninterested actors, and bad story writing.

The reason AVN work so well. Is, that the "acting" happens in your head.
So if the voice actor sucks, even if it just the audio quality that differs because of bad mic's and home recordings. It breaks the immersion immediately.

If done right, it can be hotter than the visuals. But I have only played a couple with decent voice acting. Snow Daze comes to mind.

LOL, how about porn from the 70s/early 80s. Might have been better at acting but didn't look as good, and usually didn't shave their junk.

hAhA. I'm not old enough to have been there. But I do know what you mean. (I've seen clips ;P) I also know where my dad kept his porn stash.

But to be fair, shaving your junk, was not even close to a thing back then. It was also the time of hippie, revolution and free loving. So you were supposed to let everything grow long, and try to stay "natural"

Well, I was only born in the 70s, but the movies are still out there (and were on Cinemax in the 80s/early 90s, but usually edited a lot.)

The'r are some god voiced games but for the most i lower or mute.
