Female or Male protagonist, what do you choose and why?

I prefer to play games with a male protag, but if the story seems interesting enough, I can look past the female protag.

Both are good, but I prefer female protagonists. My logic is simple: there's one more hot babe in the sex scene.

I play both but prefer male if I have a choice

Male protagonist for me only. I just don't like girl protagonist dont know why. I suppose if the game is really good i would try it.

Male Prog. always

Male protag. The reason I and most guys prefer male protags is because most games we've played in the past makes the mc a blank slate to self insert into (a vehicle to experience the story through). Its also why most prefer jrpgs since those actually make the mc their own character with their own experiences (so at that point you wont really care if its a male or female since its not even you). I could never play as a female in a game like hsr cause i would feel out of place if it feels like another guy was trying to rizz me but i would always get locked in whenever i played trails in the sky and would have a goofy smile whenever Estelle and Joshua advanced their romance.

Always went with male MC, I avoid games with female, but eventually will try some top rating ones to check how it feels, as a male, to play those and if it's something I can enjoy doing (I assume some heavy story ones could be ok).

its mostly a male MC I see with female sprinkled . I like both

Male because I'm a male, but I don't mind playing a female if the game is good!

Male Protags only. As others said before me. I don't get females. And trying to wrap my head around female POV is just to confusing.

For me the MC is almost always male. The usual male and female relationship. I can't get into the "head" of the MC if its female. It does bother me, when I see some previews of the game and it looks good, but the MC isn't male, so I skip it. Its not like I'm against it, some games will have you control a female for a little bit, and its not much of an "issue". This is not a "begging" to change anything, just something personal to me.
a dog protagonist or a monster protagonist, perhaps a goblin protagonist... seriously, why aren't there games with a dog protagonist? much more fun than boring humanoids
due to their absence, you have to play games with a female mc where there are creatures other than humanoids :sneaky:

Like most her I cant get into it if its only female protag.
Though i dont mind a multiple protag for a while if it relies too much on the female Ill gradually lose my enjoyment usually

It depends, most male, if it's an female MC it must be a sub (few exceptions)

Def male protag. I don't knkow, i just can't stand playing as a female.
Maybe it's coz of immersion?
When I'm playing as a female i just can't fully immerse.

Male protagonist. The games i played in which i was a woman just felt odd, couldn't fully immerse myself.

It depends on the Game. If the content is good and the MC is a female, why not :)

Male because I always self-insert and name them after myself. I've played really good FMC games though like Good Girl Gone Bad.

Male only, tried fem protagonists and just couldn't stick or wrap my head around, especially you only get dicked by ugly fat short bastards.

Personal opinion obviously, but i often avoid fmc games because i feel like most of them encourage "losing" during gameplay to unlock cgs. Just seems like counter intuitive game design, i have more fun playing these games and trying to actually succeed in the gameplay so the scenes feel earned, which is usually the case in games with a male protag, if that makes any sense.
