I don't really care because I don't think MC is me. MC is just the protagonist of a story so male or female it's not really important. I usually prefer male MC because female MC have usually the same easy corruption plot. But if it's well done, why not? I read VNs as any book, or film. I watch films with a female protagonist.

Male is usually better - most female protag games make her a victim (blackmail, rape, etc - and usually the fat, ugly old guys.) Hate that shit. There are a few good female protag games, but not as many. I mean not as many as a percentage, because most games, regardless of quality, are male protag.

I prefer it to be male, I like games with little ones, so I like to see them being used regardless of whether it's yaoi or loli.

Typically male just because in those games there's a female harem of love interests. But I did enjoy my time with Chloe 18 so it isn't a complete necessity if done well.
