discussion Do you prefer the MC to be male, female, or don't really care?

The title really says it all. Personally I do care. So far, I have never looked at a VN that has a female MC. I'm not necessarily being sexist, I just find it difficult to relate to a story where the MC is anything other than male. More to the point, though: how do you feel about the sex of your MC ?

I don't really care about the sex or gender of the main character. For me it comes to is the story good? Is the gameplay good? Is the artwork okay and not a hackjob or real porn? I don't relate to the characters in any type of way like that. I just enjoy the adult narrative and how the story unfolds. Whether it ends with some form of romance, corruption, or other. The journey is just as important to me as the end goal.

Gender of the mc matters alot for me actually, its kinda strange when I thought about it more as I see that in movies, regular games and these types of games. I would heavily prefer the mc to be male compare to female. I believe it to be a case of wanting to be closer or more immersed in the story/narrative thus you attach yourself to something relatable which would be the mc and it would be further enhanced due to similar sex/gender right? or am I yapping

I can see how that could make it more immersive for some people. Each person is going to be different though. I get easily absorbed into stories and if the game is well made with at least decent writing i have no problem getting immersed without attachment to any characters.

Male. Always. I think it could be really fun to do a female MC, but almost always it feels like I'm just piloting and torturing some rando lady by getting her in trouble. The one thing i will say is that the vibe of female lead games is super interesting. Many of them place a larger importance on taking care of yourself and mundane shit which I find fun.

The only time I prefer a male MC is when he's the father in an incest AVN. In any other case I prefer a female mc.

Unfortunately there aren't that many decent to good incest AVNs with a female MC imo.

Male, I can even play some games where the protagonist is a woman, especially in games where she is constantly humiliated, like Naughty Lyanna, but in general I prefer male protagonists.

I was even following A Wife and Mother but I dropped it because of how slow the development is, the game already weighs more than 5GB and so far she only has bad sex scenes with her husband.

I have never played a VN with a female MC. Something just seem off playing as a female. If I was a girl I'd imagine it would be the same, just reversed.

Really depends on the flow of the story (if there is one), and the type of content. Rather be a dude banging all the chicks, but games like Karryn's Prison are fun.
