Really depends on the flow of the story (if there is one), and the type of content. Rather be a dude banging all the chicks, but games like Karryn's Prison are fun.

This !! If the game is a harem, I prefer to play a male. If it is rather based on corruption, then playing a female is Totally OK!

The title really says it all. Personally I do care. So far, I have never looked at a VN that has a female MC. I'm not necessarily being sexist, I just find it difficult to relate to a story where the MC is anything other than male. More to the point, though: how do you feel about the sex of your MC ?

Don't feel bad; there's nothing wrong with that. I also struggle to connect when the main character is female, but we might miss out on some very good games because of it.

Dependent upon the style of game. Where dominating others, male, where submission will be forced, play as a female. Futa is also best though

The female protag usually devolves into nonsensical hysterical scenes of slop that can really quick become boring. As a male protag you get the relationship build up properly.
The only one exception I can think of is Karryn's Prison because the game is so unbelievable polished.

That really depends on the type of games. Generally speaking, male protagonist is OK but only when the male protagonist isn't a douche bag.

I would rather have a female protagonist most of the time but some game I find the male protagonist to be better. So yeah, kind of conflicting feeling about which I prefer.

It really depends on the overall quality of the game.
Usually I go with MMC first and if implemented, I like to check out the FMC route as well.

I exclusively play Male MC led games, not only do I want to play what matches myself (just like I see no real reason to play games with MCs with a vastly visually different ethnicity than my own), I also feel the "genres/themings" of female MC games kind of are not what I like, and in my opinion, kind of suck. I've seen SOOOOOOOO many female led ones where its just "get raped, then get raped again" or bestiality, ugly bastard, shit like that. I'm looking to have a pleasant time, not an unpleasant one. not to mention I don't want a sausage fest, and lesbian shit is boring to me.

Female I think. I can obviously do both, but female is much more likely to have "hardcore" things like rape and gangbangs, simply because the variation has to come from the sexual encounters and not just a new girl doing the same act as the previous member of the harem.

In a harem scenario I will usually have a favorite girl anyway, so a game centered on her having sex as much as possible just seems better.
