Do you like AI art

Maybe 1 out of 100(1000?) times it looks alright. Otherwise its pretty samey and uninteresting to look at.

I saw a silly animation the other day and realized part of why it was funny was knowing a real person spent hours at their PC, drawing and animating that silly thing.
Doesn’t hit the same when I know it was made by someone throwing prompts.
AI can make some cool stuff nowadays, even realistic art, but it doesn’t have the same impact on me.

At first i was very doubtful, but then the work done with AI is improved and now i like it in videos, drawings and AVNs.
So it is indifferent for me, if the work is done with or without AI :coffee:

Don't love it; don't hate it. AI is a tool. I don't mind being used as such.

Do I want to see it used as the primary source of art/writing? No. Do I care if someone who isn't creatively inclined uses it to tell their story? Also no.

Personally I am not good at drawing. So AI art is an amazing substitute for me. But I do not agree with it being used in place of human animators. I absolutely love AI art for small personal projects though

The reason I usually do not like AI art in games is because there tend to be inconsistencies across images.
  • changes to character apperance
  • changes to image style .. even subtle changes
  • changes to the background or setting
  • changes to objects in a scene
  • etc.
Those inconsistencies usually take me out of the flow of the game or story. I can deal with a game with poor art if the art is consistent.

It is also why I usually do not like games that mix image types .. like some 3d models and some hand drawn in the same game.

Usually no, also when it isn't uncanny, it then feels uncanny because it didn't feel uncanny before knowing it was AI. @_@

It keeps improving though... Spaghetti smith was fairly recent.

some of it looks really good but its definitely not as good as 3dcg and even 2d
dont come at me but my femboy roommate is peak and its ai;)

Nope, I usually filter my games to remove AI art, I dont mind them being used in backend but AI art is where I draw the line, Tho i don't really mind people who love it, I think that's okay

It can look good if done right lake any art in my opinion. I still have a preference on human created art but I also don't have a problem with people using it to get into the space. Like a game dev on small games that doesn't have a team. But it's being pushed out in such a scale by large companies because it's easier than paying an artist. And that's what I don't like. For me it will never replace humans in skill, detail, and invoking emotion. But on the flip side to that coin, it's here. It's not going away and it's either adapt and live with it or grow bitter and resentful. I choose the former.

its fun to try and find the mistakes like extra fingers or were the hell did that hand come from
