Do you like AI art

Maybe 1 out of 100(1000?) times it looks alright. Otherwise its pretty samey and uninteresting to look at.

I saw a silly animation the other day and realized part of why it was funny was knowing a real person spent hours at their PC, drawing and animating that silly thing.
Doesn’t hit the same when I know it was made by someone throwing prompts.
AI can make some cool stuff nowadays, even realistic art, but it doesn’t have the same impact on me.

At first i was very doubtful, but then the work done with AI is improved and now i like it in videos, drawings and AVNs.
So it is indifferent for me, if the work is done with or without AI :coffee:

Don't love it; don't hate it. AI is a tool. I don't mind being used as such.

Do I want to see it used as the primary source of art/writing? No. Do I care if someone who isn't creatively inclined uses it to tell their story? Also no.

Personally I am not good at drawing. So AI art is an amazing substitute for me. But I do not agree with it being used in place of human animators. I absolutely love AI art for small personal projects though

The reason I usually do not like AI art in games is because there tend to be inconsistencies across images.
  • changes to character apperance
  • changes to image style .. even subtle changes
  • changes to the background or setting
  • changes to objects in a scene
  • etc.
Those inconsistencies usually take me out of the flow of the game or story. I can deal with a game with poor art if the art is consistent.

It is also why I usually do not like games that mix image types .. like some 3d models and some hand drawn in the same game.

Usually no, also when it isn't uncanny, it then feels uncanny because it didn't feel uncanny before knowing it was AI. @_@

It keeps improving though... Spaghetti smith was fairly recent.

some of it looks really good but its definitely not as good as 3dcg and even 2d
