I find that the premisce of a porn scene is sometimes hotter than the action that ensues. It's mostly about building up the sexual tension. So yeah, I do like a bit of story.

I do like story in my game, but i've seen some take it a little too far and think they are writing the next big AAA game instead of a porn game.

I think it depends on the game and genre. VNs I like to know more about it and corruption games I like to know the person before the corruption starts. Some stuff can stand on it's own without a backstory though.

I need at least some story honestly. Doesn’t have to be a 40 hour VN with political intrigue and tax law lore, but I like having context for why people are doing things instead of the scene spawning out of the void after 0.3 seconds.

Half the appeal is the buildup for me. Characters, chemistry, awkward tension, flirting, teasing, all the dangerous "this is probably a bad idea" energy. Makes the payoff hit way harder.

Also dialogue matters. A few spicy lines or shameless flirting can carry an entire scene for me.

That said, I also respect the "skip all dialogue immediately" crowd because sometimes the social battery is too low for narrative investment and the goblin brain just wants efficiency.

Timing betrayed me unfortunately lol.

Before the changes this weekend, people could buy Member+ with Activity Coins, but now it uses Lewd Coins instead. So right now I’m sitting on 1000+ Activity Coins that I mostly earned thanks to @mime rewarding AI image posts in the daily theme thread… while only having around 275 Lewd Coins when Member+ costs 350

Maybe they’ll add some kind of converter between Activity Coins and Lewd Coins in the next few days, but until then my coin pile is mostly decorative.

And honestly regarding "grinding for something greater..." I’m still not fully sure what I should spend on yet. I still don’t completely understand the differences between Member+, Game+, IA+, etc, and since they’re actively reworking/remodeling the system right now, I’m hesitant to spend everything immediately once I have enough.

For now I’m mostly just participating, making AI images, collecting coins, and waiting for the dust to settle a bit before I decide. No rush. I’ll probably ask the veteran users for advice first.

I usually prefer having a story. If the plot manages to get me invested, it makes everything feel much more enjoyable. Visuals are important, of course, but in games especially, the story gives the scenes more weight and meaning. It's the same for me with manga, having a good narrative always adds extra points.

That said, on Pixiv I'm more likely to enjoy standalone illustrations without a particular story behind them, mainly because there's a lot more variety and you can find all kinds of themes and fetishes that way. Still, if an image or series comes with some kind of story, even a short one, I find it a lot more exciting because it provides context and makes the experience feel more engaging.

For games yes, manga/comics/erotica yes obviously. For actual porn though, I prefer amateur stuff so no story is needed. Porn with high production values/studio feel just doesn't do as much for me.
