Do you enjoy games that have/require a walkthrough?

If a game has many routes i even prefer when it has a Good choice/bad choice walkthrough built in. I like replayability and the constant checking for the right answers on walkthrough document or some pdf tends to take me out of the story... i know many game creators are wary of that since for some part of the audience it will make the whole dialog absolete since they will just skip while clicking on the green answer, but those people just wont play your game anyway if its too complicated to get the right choices lol.

If it has one, I will happily use it. If I find I want or need one and it doesn't have one, I usually bail and move on. I don't want to work at my gaming, I work at work enough, thank you. This is relax and enjoy time, not get frustrated and delete time.

For games on this site, I much prefer a WT to have some sense of how things go. Not looking to do multiple playthroughs if I can't understand how to get different outcomes.

I don't mind walkthroughs if it's just a super obscure scene/path/item that you can do at any time, or if it's a simple good choice/bad choice.
But for branching paths, I tend to avoid unless the branches are either super short to save scum or very different. I often want to see most/all the game but find repeating long portions of a game even more tedious than grinding a short event over and over.

Basically the title. Do you enjoy playing games (both porn or otherwise) that require you to have a dedicated walkthrough to know what to do/where to go? On some level, I don't mind it as often the games that do have one, don't make a walkthrough necessary. It's just the completionist in me wanting to see/do everything. However, there are those games in porn and otherwise, that force you to have a walkthrough just to progress the story in any form.
I like having it as an option. It's especially helpful when the dev might have gotten a little ambitious, if you know what I mean. Sometimes the art and the story is on point but the mechanics are just frustrating. Having a guide to tell you what to do is really helpful.

for games that let you choose partners or that have different routes, i kinda just wish i could select something at the beginning and just have it railroad whichever route you want. having to rely on a third party walkthrough or mod to get the "harem route" gets kinda old after a while. koga3 (praise be their name) basically streamlines this tho and their mods are relatively painless to dl and install so idk. i guess i understand the appeal of having to choose in the moment as a means of roleplaying as the mc or filtering out weird fetishes, but im just out here jorkin my shit. i don't need to ponder the morality of polygamy in a porn game, just show me all the scenes you made.

For Ren'Py VN I find WT nice but not essential, as you could just fast skip for a new route. For sandboxes, absolutely, as I won't be replaying them and they can't be fast-skipped. And then there are some convoluted games like Euphoria, where WT seem a necessity. I wouldn't have experienced Euphoria's "true" ending otherwise.

I really appreciate direct gameplay, so I consider the walkthrough a redundancy. And normal developers usually include a system of built-in hints that allow you to pass the game without much trouble. Kinetic novels don't interest me, they're not games, and neither are a large part of visual novels. I prefer sandboxes - at least they're actually games.
Another thing is that there are especially “gifted” developers who manage to create an absolutely impassable product. Try to pass Tangled Up or Jen's Dilemma. There is an “outstanding” project Ring of Lust - try to play it without getting stuck in softlock:)

I find it odd when porn games 100% need guides.
I'm not going to replay your game because I locked myself out of a route 3 hours ago and 30 updates in the past

Feels like a spoiler to me, unless it is some points for the girl mechanic.

In Pathologic (classic) you kinda need it for better experience because gameplay is time sensitivity and not meeting keypoints log you into a route. (Although there are save mechanics). Or just get speedhack (or both walkthrough and speedhack you only save time since the day goes faster too.)

It's more fun to follow good and evil routes with out being stuck in deadends

If the game has many routes and genres a walk-through is almost a must IMO. In a perfect world no walk-through needed

No, porn games should be easy to play, it is not their goal to complicate things

I make 2 save
- The first with the “good” choices
- The second with the “bad” choices
Those that allow me to see (sometimes) unseen scenes (depending on the game).

Example: People will ignore the MC or new scenes will be triggered by the displeasure of the characters (the interest is more or less minimal depending on the game).

Of course, I love games that you have to make a walkthrough to finish, especially point & click games, where there are hidden objects and you have to collect them to complete a mission.

I like to experience ALL of the game, im not a fan of replaying it in different ways (unless there is 2 very distinct paths). Walkthroughs mean I can experience each of the branching paths as I go through the game.

I don't mind when it has a walkthrough and usually when it has one it means the game has enough content to be worth looking at.

It strongly depends on the dev/game. Personally i prefer to play like I want, but some games provide wrong choices without immediate negative consequences, but then, much later after hours or even after multiple updates you get fucked by them. Reloading ancient savegames isnt fun, there i prefer ingame walkthroughs or at least hints/warnings.

I def. prefer when there is a walkthrough. Some sandbox games are hard or even impossible to progress through without one. I think most devs might as well integrate a walkthrough to start with so separate downloads are not needed
