Depends on if you are limited to the in game world or have access to the briefly mentioned/ implied outside world. Harem is a good choice for the former, for the latter I'd probably go for one of the superpower ones.
I usually wait for completion, but if a game looks really interesting I may play the first release I see. Very rarely do I replay to see the changes until it's fully complete though.
Tags, pics, description etc. as other people have said are good.
But an odd thing I really like is pictures of in-game menus, because they can give a lot of info about what kind of scenes are available and what the gameplay is like.
How grindy is it, if there a different variations of scenes...
I love this trope as well. A lot of trainer games with good wardrobe systems can scratch that itch for me, especially if there's unique transitions between the NO! to fine... to absolutely! phases of skimpier and skimpier costumes, though unfortunately that's usually the extent of it in those games.
I don't mind walkthroughs if it's just a super obscure scene/path/item that you can do at any time, or if it's a simple good choice/bad choice.

The art is great, though mostly just still poses, few if any actual scenes. The combat/equipment system is a good base with some neat ideas, but not quite enough variety to keep it interesting for very long and so gets a bit grindy. I don't know just how "side" this side project is, but...
