Do ratings affect whether you download a game?

4 and up I'll give it a shot regardless. Between 3.5 and 4 the game needs to either have my preferred tags or a large number of hits. I can't remember the last time I played anything below 3.5

I usually ignore the rating unless it's rated poorly due to performance issues or bugs

For me, tags comes first, then the rating. For example, ntr tagged game has usually a lower rating than if it doesn't have the tag. On the other hand, if I find a niche tag, I will try the game though I knew it would be bad by looking at the rating. It's rare to find a game with those kinks you know

If it's not a 5/5 with a single review from the author's friend then i'm not downloading it. Anything less than perfect is just not worth it.

Anything below a 3 will make me investigate a bit but I don't think I would ever let it stop me outright unless there is an actual problem with the game.

Ratings typically mean nothing when I decide on a new game to try. There are a lot of games that get shit ratings because a targeted kink is there or not there. Too often I see ratings based off the first release of a game and not every good game starts well. I would rather find players that enjoy a game I like and listen to their suggestions. I find so many games I enjoy like this over the rating systems.
Strongly agree

Sometimes the comments will sway me but most of the time its the tags and art.

Ratings might make me read into the comments to see why but that's about it.

I only take into consideration ratings that have comments justifying themselves. otherwise nah

not ratings, but likes do

could be manipulated but it's less likely as ratings are much easier to skew in some direction. Likes shows there's probably interest. I usually look at pictures, look at tags, then look at likes, and day of creation of the thread, if it's a new game with few likes I might give a chance, if it's old I'll expect way more likes, a 3 year old game with nice pictures but few likes tells me it's probably bad

I rarely even look at ratings. I search for the key tag that I want, then look for games that within that specific tag that look interesting to me. I'll read comments, usually the first 3 or 4 pages, then I jump to the last 3 or 4 pages. That usually gives a really good overview of how the game started and where it's at currently.

I have completed almost every game I've downloaded. There have been a couple that the mechanics of it were so dreadful that I finally gave up, but for the most part, I try to get through it and leave meaningful reviews.

I usually sort by ratings, but you gotta look at other metrics too. If a game is 5/5 with only a few reviews obviously that's not very useful.

I browse games primarily by latest updates. So, it usually takes me a long while to find the finished gems that have been legendary for years because they don't get updates any more.
Unless they word-of-mouth (or words-on-forum, I guess) is so loud I look into it earlier.
However, I am very aware that many people who rate fit into one of two categories: 1) simps with invested interest in game doing well, and 2) haters who usually have an agenda to bury any game that doesn't comply with their world view.

So, yeah, I take ratings with a massive pinch of salt looking more at the words instead of the stars.

I never look at ratings - I look at tags & preview screenshots and base my downloads on that.
The rating system is a good indicator if there's a large enough sample size - but not enough people take the effort to rate here; so it's kinda meaningless if you have 10-20 ratings only. (Not saying that I don't trust the taste of others, but.. I definately don't trust the taste of others :P )

I barely see them. Most of the games I play I start because there is a pretty redhead.
Part of what I like about this site is no one was talking and now that people are forced to, they have to stay fairly positive.

If I look at ratings, I care about descriptive reviews with five stars. I want to hear about favorite scenes and fetishes.
"The kitchen scene was hot" -I'm downloading that game and looking for the kitchen

I find most reviews to be people speaking out of their asses for clout. "The dialogue could be looser" Wtf
"Why are there choices that have different and shorter writing?" Bitch, you are high

Reviews are to signal to people who like similar games but I talk to the people who like the kind of games that I like and they give me direct recommendations.

I need to get around to playing Above the Clouds and Chasing Sunsets
No one I talk to knows what chloe 18 is and no one I know has played it

I guess I should tailor the comment to this website
There are six games on this website with more than twenty reviews. I wanted to pick on a game but nothing has been botted like I suspect chloe 18 has. I'm calling it, no rating on this website counts.

ALSO EDIT
"Getting more of this game is always good. three stars"
Just rate the game five stars. People get serious about reviews with it's such a simple metric. Just rate it five stars if you want people to play it and think it might matter. A completely positive three star reveiw is silly when other people have the mentality of "I don't look at games with less than four stars"

a good rating doesnt affect my thinking because theres some terrible "5 star" games but an overwhelmingly low rating usually prompts me to check the comments if it looked good and if it didnt ill move on

No. I read the description, I look onto the tags and take a look onto sample pictures. Sometimes the comments to the game are helpful. But never the ratings. The are usually not a good part to indicate if it is a good game. Or if it is a good game in my definition of a good game.

I say "fuck it" and try out a game based on how it looks, unless the ratings are especially low, of course.

Ratings comes in second behind tags when I decide whether I'm going to play a game
