Small Update
Security Warning
First of all, I want to make something very clear.
If anyone on the site or in Discord messages you with something like
"hey, I just finished my game, go check it out", and then sends you to some random site outside of LewdCorner,
do not download it.
I am serious.
If it links outside of LewdCorner and they are trying to get you to download files directly from some off-site source,
do not trust it unless it has been properly vetted. Far too many of these files end up being infected, compromised, or loaded with things you do not want on your system. Not every external link is malicious, but enough of them are that it is not worth gambling with your PC, your accounts, or your data.
The reason I am bringing this up is because
Fallen Angel Productions' account was compromised.
LewdCorner's database is fine.
LewdCorner itself was not targeted.
The most likely scenario is simple password reuse across multiple sites, with one of those other sites being the actual point of compromise. That is exactly why I keep pushing people to use unique passwords and to stop reusing the same login across multiple platforms.
Please use common sense when downloading anything, and do not blindly trust off-site links just because they came from an account that looks familiar.
Bot Progress
On to other news.
I am still actively running tests on the two Python bots I have been working on for LewdCorner.
- Image Fixer Bot
This bot is being made to repair broken game images across the site. Right now, I am focusing on the regular /games section first before expanding it further.
- Post Bot
This bot is currently on hold until I finish the image repair work. I do not want to re-enable or move forward with certain posting-related features until the image situation is handled first.
Once the broken images are in a much better state, I will be re-enabling
overview images on the
Latest Updates page.
That has been one of the bigger priorities, because there is no point in pushing presentation improvements while a large chunk of image content still needs cleanup.
Latest Updates / Games Field
As for the
/games section and the
Latest Updates field, I am still planning to go back and fix the add-on I built for it.
That said, I still have a lot of other work ahead of it, so I want to be upfront and say that it is
not abandoned, but it is also
not the immediate first thing until the image repair work is out of the way.
There is still a lot left to do behind the scenes, and I would rather get the foundation cleaned up properly than rush half-finished fixes out.
Other News
Also, it appears that
ATF is no longer shutting down, which is good news, so I wanted to mention that as well.
Weekend AFK
I also want to point out that I will be
AFK this coming weekend.
It is my birthday, and while I am not exactly sure what I am doing yet, I likely will not be around much.
No, I am not saying my age.
Just know I am
not in my 20s, and I am
not in my 40s.
Birthday Note
And just to be clear, I am
not begging for money, and I am not forcing anyone to donate.
But if anyone feels like throwing the equivalent of a birthday coffee my way, I would appreciate it. I genuinely like trying good, weird, or random coffee shop drinks on my birthday, so that would be a nice little bonus.
