This is a copy of an Announcement that was made on F95 pertaining to the spread of Malicious Malware on Download Host sites Buzzheavier & Datanodes... Use Caution when using these sites for the time being, and scan your downloads. Be weary and look at the actual files for the tail-tail signs, like .exe files that don't belong...
We are monitoring this situation.

As many of you have seen, both of these hosts have recently served false downloads that contained malware. The latest example was a fake Ren'Py game. While the folder structure was very close to a legitimate release, experienced users would likely notice several differences.
That said, everyone needs to be careful when downloading files. Always check the file size against what is listed on the host, review the install instructions, and make sure the download does not contain an unexpected installer, setup.exe, or any other executable that should not be there. Most Ren'Py games do not require an installer. If something looks off, do not run it.
Staff can disable hosts, remove bad links, and respond to reports, but we cannot fully protect users from every malicious download before it appears. Users still need to pay attention, verify what they are downloading, and report anything suspicious immediately.
As of right now, Buzzheavier remains disabled because we have not received a response from the owner. Datanodes was re-enabled yesterday at 4 PM PST after the owner disabled ads.
The information-stealer group targeting these hosts, or targeting our site through these hosts, has continued to come back and has gotten worse over time. Because of that, we will continue monitoring the situation closely and may disable hosts again if needed.
