I like Conan the Destroyer, but the first one is so much better and more adult. The John Milius version, Conan The Barbarian is like all time great to me.

And for Blade Runner 2049 Roger Deakins cinematography is beautiful and i wholly dislike digitally shot films. But somehow on this one it worked. They wasted Harrison though as Deckard, and its no way near as good a film, also too much cgi, and the score is no Vangelis.

If someone made a thread for bad movie sequels and remakes the results would be legion. So, so many.

Cornetto is a trilogy yes, but not strictly sequels. World's End was the last one.

I like Highlander only the first one, used to like the series but to be honest does it hold up? Looks really cheesy without a HD release. Was watching it on one of those free streamer things and its like watching VHS.

I'm a big Queen fan and i love Princes of the Universe. I also without irony love the entire Flash Gordon 1980 soundtrack.

that montage scene with connor and his wife just hits you in the feels with how bittersweet it is. 'Who Wants To Live Forever' is such a beautiful, yet sad, song by Queen.

I totally forgot that technically Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom is a prequel, and only the Last Crusade in that trilogy counts as a sequel.

its kind of amazing how many good movies Roger Deakins has worked on. Some people just have the knack. Deakins is a true master at what he does.

Most series fall apart on the third entry i don't think many 3rd films are better than the second except maybe Back to the Future but that is debatable.

True, I can't think of any counter examples really. Though Scream 5 is definitely way better than Scream 3 and 4. And Star Wars 7 and 8 are a lot better than the 2nd trilogy. There tends to be a lot more variance in the real long running series.

the skewed alternate 1985 is great. The parts that remake the first less so. The future timeline stuff is now a farce post 2015.

I'll start by saying that Terminator 2 is one of the best sequels ever made.

Do you think Deadpool and Wolverine will be good? Hugh is a hell of a great Wolverine, but i don't like or trust Disney.

As for Roger Deakins, while it isn't my favorite 007 Skyfall is well shot and composed.
